Fonda, 67, spoke at Unity Temple, in The Plaza shopping district, about her new book, "My Life So Far" and her new movie with Jennifer Lopez called "Monster-In-Law."
At about 9 p.m., police said a man who had been waiting in line for about 90 minutes, passed a book to Fonda and then spit a large amount of tobacco juice into her face.

Fonda declined to prosecute the man for allegedly spitting in her face.
Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, which is a city charge.

Because of Fonda and her ilk, our men were spat on...and tortured, actually. Spit is the very least she deserves.
I heard a story of how the prisoners at the Hanoi Hilton passed her notes for their families, and she gave them over to the enemy. The prisoners were then tortured for passing the notes!
Since she is now a Christian Fonda needs to read Matthew 5:23-24

The Vietnam Vets who arrived back home would have preferred to be welcomed with flags and parades; but they too were spit on, because Fonda and her friends said they were "baby killers" and deserved it.
Fonda deserved a little of the same treatment. She needs to realise what she put our heroes through. She needs to "feel their pain".

The point about sounding like Dukakis is that your statement, "I guess it is hyperbole. I wouldn't really urinate on someone's grave. And I certainly wouldn't spit in someone's face." is similar to Dukakis' reaction to someone raping his wife.

What does it take it evoke your passion and emotions? To make the categoric statement that you would never respond in such a human way is either more hyperbole or nonsense. Obviously, you are not a Vietnam veteran.
During the course of this thread, you have changed your position several times. Initially, you were lecturing us:

I'll drink a six-pack of 20-ouncers first and join you. I don't disagree that it is worth spit and a lot more. I will urinate on her grave if I have the opportunity. If we are to criticize the left, however, we need to watch what we do.... Then, I would have told her that I have a rope and nice big tree at my house if she would care to finally do the honorable thing.
I'm not judging him at all. I'm sure he felt he had to do that for years of anger and not being able to release it. I'm glad the *itch isn't pressing charges. Actually, it is smart of her to not do that. Thousands and thousands have truly earned the right to do what he did.

I was raised in the South and those standards still motivate my actions. This was reprehensible and Fonda comes out looking good while the slimy toad looks like a slimy toad.
Did he say, "I win?" . . . It reminds me of the tobacco-spittin' scene in Kill Bill 2: Kiddo spits on the lowlife and the lowlife responds by spitting 'baccy juice in her face, then says, "I win."
