You welcome, Victoria. But I just realized the futility of pinging you to a thread that is now nearly 3,000 posts long . . . as if you could possibly go back and read them all. LOL!

LOL, don't worry. I've learned to become more focused and limit my reply to just my ping without reading what's above it, except for the article. LOL!

You are nothing but contemptable slime. Give it a rest. Do you think it's funny for a piece of garbage like you to be joking about being Pope?

Oh for crying out loud, it's Laz for pete's sake. Knock off the name calling.

Btw, when I was transferred from Catholic to public school, I got my ass kicked daily for being Catholic. The teachers did nothing...Laz is just goofing off as always.

That's good -- otherwise you'd be driving yourself nuts trying to go through every thread you get pinged to.

Onyx, you're very welcome. Glad you are happy! My favorite picture of the faithful is of that woman in St. Peter's Square (in post 2793) raising that beautiful Crucifix with hope to the Holy Father. The picture captures such a blend and joy, love, and faith that it's endearing. And the Holy Father's love is full and embracing. Those two pictures were my little gift of love. :-)

[I'm glad you liked the Papal portraits. I'm sorry that the hidden apostolic succession picture was too small.]

Nuther ooops for me tonight: "his pure and his dutiful and selfless servie" ................servie=service. Whew! been on this thread since the first hint of white smoke .. what, 8 hours?? Longest constant involvement in a FR thread ever, but it's a day and an outcome I'll treasure and never forget.

A BIG THANK YOU for the kind words of happiness and grasped awareness from all the non-Catholic posters. We are one with a firm belief in the mercy and glory of God, and this choice to hold onto undiluted integrity in the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church is good for us all.

As for the posters or interlopers with the totally inappropriate or crude remarks, I know one day you will be struck by the revelation of your impropriety and a discovery of the value of kindness, humility and proper respect... in God's time... when it becomes too painful for your flippancy to serve as a mask for other painful life issues. I pray that resolution and reconciliation come in time for you.

A WORD

A careless word may kindle strife:
A cruel word may wreck a life:
A bitter word may hate instill:
A brutal word may smite and kill:
A gracious word may smooth the way:
A joyous word may light the day:
A timely word may lessen stress:
A loving word may heal and bless.

May God Bless You!

comment to your earlier post. Third Order members are not religious, they are seculars. I am a Third Order Carmelite. The First (friars) and Second (nuns) Orders are religious. Third Orders are full members of the Order whether it be Carmelite, Dominican, Franciscan, etc. but we are not religious (using it as a noun).

"Don't you think Jean-Marie Lustiger would have better fulfilled the prophecy (a Jew from the Olive Mount)? And what do you think about his taking of the name Benedictine? Do you think the Gloria Olivae is why he took that name? I can't think of another reason. "

There certainly was a lot of speculation that would be the case. But I'm glad the cardinals don't look to the prophecy to fill the role. You would think that he would be aware of the prophecy and that could certainly influence the selection of the name Benedict. However, that's a little frustrating in that you want to see prophecy fulfilled without people taking action to fulfill it after being aware of it.

I just finished reading this blog I found after searching for Benedict and Olive. Blog on Gloria Olivae. It suggests that the name implies a peace bringer. Which is interesting in that when Russia invades Israel, Israel is supposed to be at peace in a land of "unwalled villages". Israel is practically the only nation in the world that is building walls. (Maybe the US along the Mexican border). Apparently the fence will come down and Israel will acheive peace before the war.

It's not hard to see the possibility of a "hook" being put in Russia's jaw to bring them down into the middle east. After Beslan, they are going to take an increasingly harder line with Islamic terrorism.

"If the prophecies are true we are, what, 2 popes away from The End? ;) "

If Malachy is correct, then this pope is either the last pope or the next to last pope. Gloria Olivae is the last pope that is numbered. Then the prophecy has a paragraph that is not numbered that says that Peter the Great will lead the church through a time of great tribulation.

What that means, I can only speculate. But here's my thoughts. I believe the rapture will occur before the Great Tribulation.

Two possibilities:
