While it may be easy for some to become complacent thinking that truth will speak for itself, the truth must be told to those who tend to pervert it.

The truth always wins

Don't worry, not that thin skinned.

I was hoping to point out that Benedict is human. He wasn't a glorious Nazi-fighter, battling the forces of evil in a single bound. Nor was he the devil in the brown suit. He was a boy, a boy who became a priest and now a Pope.

People who argue either extreme are nuts. Okay that wasn't nice, but my mind is going.

especially churches because the devil has a vested interest in messing them up.

Yes he does, fortunately, he will not prevail, despite our foolish willingness to cooperate with him at times.

Aha! Trust the MSM not to mention that Blessed Titus had been a victim of Nazi experiments.

Since you lost out on Pope why don't you just take a shot at sainthood? Then you'd really be safe!

Divorced is pushing it. Widowed, I guess I can see. Although there are many that are against lay deacons, so who knows.

I guess what she's saying is that Jesus didn't set up the church and he didn't create its structure or give the pope rule over the church (however that's worded)

Actually, he's right. But this isn't the thread to beat this horse to death again. We'll do that at a later time.

what order is Father Pavone?

Father Frank Pavone is forming an order. He has no constitution and the only thing done is the permission of the Diocese [Amarillo].

If Perky Katie is deeply saddened, I am all for him.

As my pastor said this weekend, hopefully the new pope will be one that is committed to the Bible and to Christianity.

We will see.

A lot of liberals will be in therapy for a while. [irony]

Probably the same ones who were in therapy after GW won again. Maybe they never got out of therapy? Poor souls. Life must be very sad for them.

What miserable lives they must lead. No set direction, no standard rules, no leaders with clear-cut resolutions to problems. They live a lifetime of demeaning others, finger-pointing, fault-finding, name-calling and frustrated whining. Yet, people who take the hard road, with all its rocks and burdens, where there are difficult rules, high hurdles to jump, and standards to reach that are never lowered, are the content, happy, moral, and decisive people. We have no need for continual therapy.

Wonder if they will ever see the benefits a disciplined life provides vs. the troubles those who live by the "induldge yourself" theory ? They are in a state of flux. Consertvatives are in the state of certainty.

"Ratzinger said that you needed to be Catholic to be saved."

If he did say that, he wouldn't be the only one.

"In short, the MSM hates serious Christians of all types --- born again Bush or rottweiler Pope."

Despite the MSM's hopes of bashing the new Pope with the Rottweiler reference, they again demonstrate their ignorance in doing so....

Just as "Rottweiler," is a marginally clever play on Ratzinger's name, the Dominican's were also referred to as, Domini Canis (GOD's Dogs) as a tribute to their fidelity and loyalty to GOD.

Though I'm a shepherd man myself, being compared with or referred to as a Rottweiler is not a bad thing...they are tenacious, strong, noble and faithful guardians of that which is placed under their protection. I for one hope that he IS a Rottweiler, and do not find the reference demeaning despite the msm's intentions....
