Pollster Scott Rasmussen has begun publishing a regular "Hillary Meter." The purpose of this is to track Sen. Hillary Clinton's movement to the political center by determining how much of the American public considers her to be middle-of-the-road. I find this to be a fascinating story, because it says quite a bit about Hillary and her political skills--or lack thereof. It is, of course, gospel that Hillary Clinton is a political genius, or something to that effect. She is so brilliant that potential Democratic opponents are warned by pundits everywhere that she will work her secret devil arts on the poor fool who dares cross her. She is that good. Ostensibly, the only hope that humble conservatives have to keep her from being the first female president is some tawdry book by Ed Klein. I have never understood this.

One thing is certain, this will be both interesting to speculate on, and to see played out.

No offense please but I truly believe she is not electable, and for the following reasons:
1) She is the most polarizing figure in American politics today.
2) She will not win one single Red State, and will likely lose MN, PA, NH, OR, and WS (one of them, two, three, I don't know, but she will lose some).
3) There exists miles and miles of video of her ranting and raving about "the right wing conspiracy," Hillarycare, the travel office, FBI records, Vince Foster, abortion on demand, extreme gun control, and other policy positions that campaigns operatives will have a field day with.
4) She will not outraise any Republican candidate.
5) She could be damaged goods after a tough primary battle with Kerry, Edwards, possibly the return of Al Gore, Evan Bayh, etc.
6) I think the Repubs will nominate McCain or Allen, and I think both could kick her ass!
I would have said the same thing for Al Gore. How could that idiot get more than 35% of the vote? The public has a short memory, and Hillary will reinvent herself. She is moderating all her positions and people will look at her and think, well she isn't all that bad. There is no Republican star that has risen yet. I really think the best chance to stop Hillary is in the primary, where her support of the Iraq War and moderating positions, may do her in.
Actually, I'm hoping for Algore to jump back into the fray, and think he will. He's hoping to be Nixon redux: lose a close one in 2000, and come back 8 years later and win. But what really makes an Algore run appealing is the bloodbath he and the Witch will have in the primaries. They hate each other, which will make for some great comedy.

True, but think of the knives that will come out between him and the Witch. Also, he's given the GOP ample video proving he's become completely unhinged since 2000 if he should win the nomination. At this point, I'd consider him lucky to get 40% of the popular vote. But even if he didn't get the nomination, he would cause considerable damage to any RAT nominee, especially Her Heinousness, in the primaries.

I just don't think Hillary can credibly reinvent herself to Red State voters, I don't see it. If anything I honestly believe she will lose rather decisively. But, I do look forward to seeing her go duck and goose hunting. Emily's List and other radical feminist groups will love that.
That's a good list you've started. I think it's time to put a list together and stress the list to the American people now until election day, "Why we can not allow Hillary to become president."
One that comes to mind right off is I don't want Bill Clinton to be the first lady. He's out of the White House, let's keep him out.

WRONG.Hitlery has skewed her own chances at being prez simply by being herself. When she runs her (pitiful attempt to be elected)campaign in 2008,she will get the spanking she so desperately deserves-and it's been a long time coming. Exactly. It is as I have always said when the subject of Hillary running for President comes up...she is unelectable for that office. It ain't gonna happen.

I never bought into that myth. The Perot vote was split pretty much evenly between Dems and GOP. Bush lost it due to a sagging economy (mostly because of slow fed action) and Bush's flop on his no new taxes pledge. The race would have been slightly closer without Perot, but I don't think Perot was the deciding factor. Perot definitely played no role in Dole's lose.
Yes, but Clinton was/is loved by the media. Big difference!
