TAMPA, Fla. -- State investigators found no evidence that Terri Schiavo had been abused or exploited by either side of her family, according to documents released by Florida's Department of Children and Families.
The agency investigated 89 complaints dating back to 2001, when Schiavo's feeding tube was removed for the first time and the legal battle surrounding her right-to-die case intensified.
The calls alleged that the brain-damaged woman was being mistreated by her husband and her parents for financial gain. One complaint alleged that Schiavo's parents were selling videos of her through a Web site; another said Schiavo's husband wasn't spending money intended for her rehabilitation.
But investigators said they found no evidence that either her husband or parents were exploiting her, and often noted in their records that they found Schiavo well cared for on their visits to her Pinellas Park hospice.
The agency released the records Friday under court order.
Schiavo, 41, died last month after her feeding tube was removed for the third time, ending a bitter court battle between her husband, Michael Schiavo, and parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, over whether she would have wanted to live in a vegetative state.
The repeated allegations of abuse were based partly on bone scans showing Terri Schiavo suffered fractures and statements she made to family and friends that she was unhappy in her marriage.
Schiavo's husband has denied harming his wife. His lawyer said the fractures resulted from osteoporosis caused by the woman's years of immobility and complications of her medication.
Robert Schindler declined to comment there on the release of the DCF documents. An attorney for Michael Schiavo did not immediately return calls
what an excellent response to a chucklehead comment
Murder, however it comes packaged, pretty much turns off any Christian "simpleton" worth his salt.
No one here dragging anyone anywhere.
Uh, did you read that report? It says over and over there were no signs of abnormality and the case was pretty much closed as soon as the doctors reported back to the cops. The only reason the word "HOMICIDE" even appears on that report is because they're the ones that always show up when a young, outwardly-healthy-appearing person turns up dead. They're not there because they think a murder took place; it's just SOP.
Could you provide a source for that? At that point in time, that would of been very illegal. I know Mike tried to let her die of an UTI in 1993 against doctors orders, but I never heard anything about this. Doesn't make any sense, does it? Perhaps, you are mistaken.
I thought she had a potassium imbalance according to freerepublic doctors. If she drank tea, how could this be?
"POTASSIUM: Potassium is essential to humans in that it assists in maintaining a normal heart beat. Potassium also assists nerves and muscles to function. Further, it regulates fluid levels or balance inside of each cell. A deficiency of potassium can lead to irregular heart beat and, generally, body fatigue. 5-6 cups of tea daily can provide as much as 75% of our daily requirements (based on an adult intake of 2000 calories)."
She weighed 120 lbs at the time of her collapse. Any other ideas?
Wasn't that weight loss over a few years?
So are you saying that the judiciary is not "part of the government"? It was the judiciary which caused the death, it was the police who arrested folks for trying to give her water. You are fooling yourself if you do not think the government was involved. It was the STATE that had her killed.
Probably just stress that brought it on.
Attorney Pat Anderson: Terri ahh, got her hair done that day, and spent more money than he thought she should have... They had a GREAT BIG fight before he went off to work. Ahh, she was so upset about the fight, that she called her best friend from work, a girl that she had discussed, perhaps both of them getting a divorce, and taking an apartment together... She called this girl, Jackie Rhodes, told her about the big fight... She was sufficiently upset that Jackie Rhodes asked her: "Should I come over? Should I come over and spend the night with you so you'll be safe?"
And Terri said, "No, I'll either be asleep, or pretend to be asleep when he gets home from work."... and the next thing Jackie heard, was she was in the emergency room.

Whole lotta starvation and dehydration going on in this country. The vital statitstics (Death Certs) don't facilitate getting a handle on the number of cases per year.
Could you provide documentation for that? According to the report to the Governor in 2003
By 1994, Michael's attitude and perspective about Theresa's condition changed. During the previous four years, he had insistently held to the premise that Theresa could recover and the evidence is incontrovertible that he gave his heart and soul to her treatment and care. This was in the face of consistent medical reports indicating that there was little or no likelihood for her improvement.
In early 1994 Theresa contracted a urinary tract infection and Michael, in consultation with Theresa's treating physician, elected not to treat the infection and simultaneously imposed a "do not resuscitate" order should Theresa experience cardiac arrest. When the nursing facility initiated an intervention to challenge this decision, Michael cancelled the orders. Following the incident involving the infection, Theresa was transferred to another skilled nursing facility.
Michael's decision not to treat was based upon discussions and consultation with Theresa's doctor, and was predicated on his reasoned belief that there was no longer any hope for Theresa's recovery. It had taken Michael more than three years to accommodate this reality and he was beginning to accept the idea of allowing Theresa to die naturally rather than remain in the non-cognitive, vegetative state. It took Michael a long time to consider the prospect of getting on with his life something he was actively encouraged to do by the Schindlers, long before enmity tore them apart. He was even encouraged by the Schindlers to date, and introduced his in-law family to women he was dating. But this was just prior to the malpractice case ending.
It seems the nursing home was in conflict with his wishes in 1993 but not the attending doctor on the case.
You would think there would of been an investigation based on Dr. Walkers testimony. Especially when that same person of interest was conducting an ongoing attempt to kill the same person with the broken bones. Anything wrong with that logic?
There is no skull fracture indicated on the bone scan report.
What is that, the final word?
That is not what Michael's testimony of the Dep. of Michael Schiavo --Nov. 19, 1993 said.
I can look it up on my other computer tomorrow if you would like me to. Since she is dead, I have no overwhelming urge to do that at the moment.
Glad to see you are starting to look into this btw.
Q. So when you made the decision on your own not to teat or instructed the doctor not to treat Terris infection her bladder infection, no physician had made the statements that Dr. Harrison had to you at that time, did they? (Objections by Mr. Nilsson)Now what did you say again?Q. Prior to your making you know, the decision were talking about, the decision that you made to treat your wifes bladder infection had any physician ever suggested to you that if she has an infection in the future that you dont treat it or that you allow her to die?
SCHIAVO: Well, I went and talked to Dr. Mulroy about it.
Q. And what was Dr. Mulroys advice to you, if any?
SCHIAVO: Not to treat the infection.
I know Mike tried to let her die of an UTI in 1993 against doctors orders
Well apparently not...
All of them can be found HERE. And do you know in every instance that I can see he relied on the doctor's decision?
BTW, here's a bit from his statements in 2000
Q. Are you aware of any treatment anywhere that can help Terri? But let's throw him under the bus on some more baseless allegations shall we?SCHIAVO: There is no treatment anywhere that can help Terri. No.
Q. If there were, what would you do?
SCHIAVO: I would be there in a heartbeat.
