President Bush helped welcome the baseball era back to Washington DC as he threw out the first pitch of the Washington Nationals inaugural home game. The President also made remarks at the American Society of Newspaper Editors Convention in Washington. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!
Good night, snugs. I am going to retire shortly myself.
It looks like Dubya's standing on a giant pancake!
I like your comment about the artillery. My husband was raised in a household that didn't allow guns, not even toys. He couldn't play with a toy or use a real one. So when they were going to draft him for Vietnam, he enlisted in the Navy and worked in a gun mount. I think he would like your artillery comment.
His father was in the "Big Red One" in World War II, a behind the lines radio operator. In four invasions including Normandy. This was the guy who said no guns in my house.
I think both Barney and Beezie are real cute, but I feel so sorry for the cat, India! I wonder if the puppy or Barney still chases her? I hope that the President and Laura gives her a lot of extra attention in the evening to make up to her for what she has to go throught with both dogs. Does anybody know or heard anything more about little India? Thanks.
LUCKYYYY
Only made blig on ESPN Sportcenter that is they went into action of the game
I think it was high strike I saw replay of the first Baseball fan DUBYA throw out first ball
Is that the Aussie equivalent of "Just bein' nosy"?
You betcha. See I told you that I would have you speakin' Oztralian in no time at all!! Good on ya mate! ;0)
I believe that--sometime this summer or fall--Dubyuh will sign legislation that makes our southern border--and hey, let's not fergit our Northern border--all but impregnable. At the same time, said legislation will require all undocumented workers to register with their local Social Security office within three months to be assigned their FAUX Social Security number (i.e. "IMM666-99-3333") and provide contact information to the authorities. Using this information our newly-empowered BIG GUV'MENT Immigration office, we will begin the process of deporting those who are in our Nation illegally...of course, those who are gainfully-employed may petition fer a 6-month work pass provided they have a legitimate employer willing to go on the hook for them. There's more to this plan, but I've got work to do, please offer input at yer leisure...MUD
By having the Faux SS # the gov will know whether they are actually working or not..If working they will now have to pay TAXES, if not - back they go.. Put in a BIG fine for those employers using unregistered workers. I think your idea has some real promise. Send your suggestion in to your reps and the President. Is it OK if I borrow it to pass around?
Nevermind about the Washington Post Democrat.
That's what Michael Graham, the talk show host on WMAL for the 3 hours before Rush's 3 hours, here in the DC area.
I love that he always refers to it as the "Washington Post Democrat" because it is ALWAYS biased against anything Republican, religion, or well, you get the point.
BTW, on the First Pitch. It apparently occurred during a commercial break, because I had the VCR running, and I didn't get to see it until the Evening News. It was the most disappointing coverage by WPN 20 here in DC, since the timing of the First Pitch was widely publicized.
So what WAS WPN 20 thinking? Putting a commercial on when the President walked to the mound, and threw out the most historical First Pitch in DC, the first pitch to a DC baseball team, for 34 years!
And they say the media isn't biased more proof on anti Bush, anti republican bias.
You didn't miss it. AT least here in DC on WPC 20, they DIDN'T EVEN SHOW IT!!! It occurred while they had us on a commercial break. I had to wait until the end of the game, when they did a re-cap, and I finally saw the first pitch, the F-16 flyover, the opening ceremonies, greatly, greatly abbreviated. I saw even more of it on the CBS Evening news, since they did a "Washington Nationals Opening Special" and led with the story of the baseball game.
I was too tired to pick up the phone and complain to WPN 20 - would have had to find the number for the stupid Maryland station. But this Morning, I gave them a polite earful.
Sheesh!
That reminds of something dad said yesterday one of the main differences between UK and American television. Though in the main the 2 are getting more and more alike you still would not get a major politician whether it be from the left or the right have an interview say lasting 15 - 20 minutes and have commercial breaks in it. If the person was on for the whole show that is different.
I know that it was pre recorded but Condi Rice on Hannity and Colmes last night I think there were 2 or 3 breaks in the interview which probably lasted in total less that 10 - 15 minutes and I might be over generous at that with time.
In Britain pre recorded or live that would not have happened you would have had the whole interview and then probably an extra long break.
Yep...I also think they need to be 100% on the hook fer FICA, just in case they eventually gain American citizenship.
"Put in a BIG fine for those employers using unregistered workers."
The laws are already on the book fer that, it's simply a matter of enforcement.
"I think your idea has some real promise. Send your suggestion in to your reps and the President. Is it OK if I borrow it to pass around?"
Of course, that is why I posted it, my FRiend...I'll email it to my Congressman--Deputy Whip Eric Cantor--and to Tom Delay and to my favorite Senator, George Allen. But please, send it to whoever you want.
FReegards...MUD
I didn't miss the President throwing out the first pitch..... I was at the game :-)
ROFLMAO!!! Well, Beezie is nearly six months old. I think that's about the same time he took over Barney.
Do you want me to talk you through posting photos?
Please see FReemail.
I hope you will give us a more complete report on tonight's dose. Hope also you had good seats.
What is the stadium like there?
I wondered where you were last night Mike, hope you had a great evening.
