IRVINGTON, N.J. -- One man shot another man Monday morning and then fled in a vehicle with a woman and her 4-year-old daughter, authorities said. A statewide alert was being issued.
The wounded man was not likely to die, police Director Michael Damiano said.
He said the shooting happened shortly after 7 a.m., and that the suspected shooter may be related to the child.
Information for an Amber Alert, sent to broadcasters and placed on highway message signs when a child is abducted, was being compiled, Damiano and state police said. No description of the vehicle was immediately available, they said.

On this date, the suspect Almutah Saunders (alias: Almutha, Al, Mutah, Tamel) abducted his daughter, Jada Saunders, B/F, 4 months old) and mother Erika Turner.
Almutah is travelling with the mother and child in the a 2001 Grey/Silver Honda Accord with NJ Registration RJD-75V.
Suspect is armed and dangerous, please be advised he may possibly be carrying a weapon. Suspect may possibly be heading towards the George Washington Bridge, via the city of Newark.
PLEASE CONTACT 9-1-1 if you have further information.

Wouldn't that mean they are on the turnpike. LE in helicopters should be able to spot them. And not to be funny but wouldn't they still be stuck in traffic?
Hope the mother and child are okay.
If they're going to PA, they're going the wrong way.
The alert said they suspect he is going to NY. The announcement said he had family in PA as an FYI for PA to be alert too.

Yes online, no to translation. Some form of "muta" has to do with marriage-that-really-isn't, but when it comes to Arabic I don't know my h's from my apostrophes from my glottal stops, so I can't look it up. (OTOH maybe the folks in Irvington don't know either!)
It's all up for grabs, of course -- lots of roads besides the TPKE., even tho that's what out-of-staters identify with re NJ.; I78 and I80 for example.

The silver honday didn't go through the NJ/PA toll plaza.
