Any man who says he enjoys listening to a woman tell about shopping or someone who pissed her off is lying and really only trying to find an angle to turn said listening into a sexual opportunity.

Only if they are single or recently dating... A guy whos been with the said woman yacking about her day, is earning brownie points toward being able to spend the weekend Riding his Harley while the little woman stays home with the kids.

Once sex is a regular occurrnace, motivations change. ( I know some married guys will say marriage kills sex.... I say you just married the wrong gal. )

Women do not talk to men about shopping unless the man wants her to. But they will talk to them about other subjects which are interesting such as her background, her family, the things which interest her, her goals.

Believe me I was married to a champion shopper for 20 wonderful years and she never talked to me about shopping though she happily would model her new purchases. And she talked to me about everything else under the sun.

All you losers out there should forget about buying the book and just do what Pukin Dog says to do.

He is a wise man.

I feel the need to weigh in here...
Yes, absolutely. I am one of those "always right" guys and because more often than not, I am right, (expect in spelling) it reinforces this. So I never listened to what my mate was telling me, I mean really listened. It got to the point that we communicated mostly while at work through email.
Any emotion laden conversation was off handily dismissed as petty, ridiculous or wrong.

And that was my downfall.

A woman will become bitter, resentful and distant and will soon plan here retreat.

So then, what kind of "test" do you recommend, to find out, if a woman is a feminist or not, because I have been "fooled" before. AND-- how do I implement said test, without getting in trouble, for " infringing on a persons rights, asking personal things"?(as has happened before).

Well, there are several ways. And you don't have to ask, just observe! Is she domestic? Does she cook? How does she act around her parents and is that behavior for your benefit, or does it seem natural. What types of movies and music does she like? (Lifetime is a slight danger flag!) Is she pro life or pro choice? (if she is pro choice, you will hear about it WITHOUT asking, believe me!

And observe how she acts toward other people while out. You will spot the signs if you are aware. Open the door for her, every chance you get, if she protests, it's a dead ringer, she is a feminists. Allow her the opportunity to make you dinner or coffee, see if she does offer on her won, and then does it. Stuff like that. Feminists do not fit the just like Mom mold.

Whoever wrote this doesn't understand the meaning of the word "smart".

Let me educate him: Stupid is as stupid does.

No matter. Usually, women will pick the best physical specimens to have offspring with; it's only logical. Barring that, she may choose a rich man to compensate. Or some combination. Lonely, poor and unattractive geniuses go begging.

I agree. Most women may not say it, but a physically attractive genius won't have much of a problem, whereas an unattractive one will.

On your first date, order the biggest, bloodiest steak on the menu. Her comments about it as the blood drips from your lips will tell you all you need to know about her. If she orders one, and finished before you do, you might consider marrying her in the morning.

LOL!

That would be me!

I have to say that living in Massachusetts as a Conservative can be difficult with the ladies but one shouldn't talk politics much while dating IMHO anyway.

However, I have blown it a few times with things I said, like when I mocked Harvard Univerity as a "clown college" to a college girl I was dating. It made her FURIOUS! LOL! Rejection sadness for me, HELL NO!, I LOVE that experience!

I have one or two other stories but I wont bore you all with them. This has only happened to me three times since I don't talk politics in any specific way with women I am just dating casually.

Mind-blowing attitudes some of these Yankees have.

Arioch7 out!

I wouldn't want a stupid man. I want someone who can hold up their end of a deep conversation. If they're smart, they'll know communication is a very important skill in any endeavor.

A smart guy might not disagree with you right off the bat, though. For example, would it be wise for someone who wanted to date you to point out that your pronouns don't match their antecedents? You should have said if he's smart, he'll know communication is an important skill. It you had wanted to refer to multiple men, you should have done so with the first sentence. This isn't a case where political correctness would have applied, but that's why we use gender neutral pronouns inappropriately, by the way. Also, your tagline is too general. Some Republican candidates are moral. On the borders and immigration issues, they're weasels; Republicans are also weasels on the China issue. A smart guy might call you on those facts, but he'd probably lose the chance to date you in the process. A really smart guy would save it for a rainy day!

Of course there are women who would refuse to date a man if his pronouns didn't correspond to his antecedents. That's a whole different story!

Everything you need to know about meeting and keeping women can be learned by watching Napoleon Dynamite.

My personal belief is that many women are so self absorbed and so concerned whether or not someone is offending them that they often fail to see the reality of life around them. This insane behavior then bleeds into everything else.

For example, I am helping a couple do a real estate closing. The house is in her name, but he pays for everything. This is not uncommon. She is currently in Florida in the vacation house that he pays for while he is working like a slob. The house they are selling is a must sell scenario since the carrying costs are very high. There are no other buyers than the current one and they need some concessions to close the deal.

In any event, the husband asked me to get the contracts out. I did and agreed to a pre-closing occupancy, with the husbands consent. The house needs fixing up and it is sort of a dealbreaker for them if they can't do it. The broker the other attorney, and myself are happy because we are making some headway. If we can't close this deal it is going to cost the client at least 9,000 in carrying costs until we find another buyer, and that is without taking into consideration lowering the purchase price!

As soon as wifey hears about this she flips. She starts screaming and yelling at me. She wants the buyers to be allowed only three days and wants to charge them for access. She wants stiff penalties for this than that.

I explained to her that if she makes terms on the buyers harsh to the point that they walk away, it would cost her thousands of dollars. She did not care, despite my explaining to her that her demands for a few hundred dollars were going to cause her thousands. I wanted hang up on her , but that would be rude.

I then tried calling the husband to run interference. The phone was busy. You know what that meant. Oh, did he get an earful, from Florida. She was ranting and raving and being totally illogical, irrational, and without any sense of reality.

The point is that many many women are so caught up in nonsense as to not be able to think straight. And this goes on and on and on.

Any thoughts?

Living it right now. But there is no one single answer, is there? Listening and respecting the feelings of one's mate is vital to a long, trusting and happy relationship.

The article would be better headlined as:

Why arrogant, self-important, egotistical men can't get women.

Here's a clue: If you think you're smarter than everone else, you probably aren't.

There must be a lot of arrogant, self-important, egotistical men who think they're smart, since the book is marketed in their general direction.
