GULFPORT, Fla. Though rebuffed on their request to bury their daughter in Florida, Terri Schiavo's parents prepared for a funeral Mass on Tuesday for the brain-damaged woman who died last week after a bitter legal battle.
The service is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Schiavo's body was cremated Saturday, two days after her death, as the battles between her husband, Michael Schiavo, and her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, continued.
Her parents had opposed her cremation and had hoped to bury her in their adopted state of Florida.
But her husband ordered her cremation and said her ashes will be buried in his family's plot in Pennsylvania, the state where Terri Schiavo grew up and met her future husband.

future husband should read future murderer.
You got that right! They cremated the wrong person.
Will Judge Greer issue a court order that they can't do that, either?
Only if Terri's WINO tells Greer to.

Thanks for info.
God rest her soul.
I hang my head in shame for what was done to this woman.
Sure seems to me that Michael isn't doing anything to improve his image.........this act among many others is what I hope will render him "demonic" for years to come. I can't help but think that if he did indeed abuse Terri and she was seeking a divorce, what would one think? Don't abusers have such a sick mind set that those they abuse are thought of as property? Think in his demented mind that she was NOT going to leave him.......she was NOT going to divorce him.........she was NOT going to have any life beyond what HE deemed she should have? A sick, twisted idea that she was his and his alone, even in death. My Lord, what a sorry excuse for a human being! JMHO.
I have wondered, might it be because, he, as a nurse - and his lawyers would know, that hair can be analyzed and reveal any and all chemicals in the body?
Just a passing thought
I just hope Mrs. Schiavo will now rest in peace.
When my husband was died, the autopsy was performed the next day, but it took a week and half for the cremation to be done.
I guess Michael had the pull to get it done in only two days. Quite a hurry.
While I still think I have little evidence to actually accuse Michael HINO of all he's been accused of, I can't help thinking he's basically a jerk.
I've been thinking the same things, at every step - can't he AT LEAST let them have this 1 thing?
-care for her
-let a sibling stay at her last seconds
-bury her at their home
-give them a memento....
Unbelievable. He is not helping his image! He is an ass, even if he never abused her and/or Terri never thought of divorcing him. Even if he tried to do right by her, he's still an ass - not letting the family have anything, really. (He DID let them visit, obviously, but the rest is just too weird.)
I find it curious that he would not even allow Terri's parents to have a lock of hair...
Doesn't just about everyone keep a snippet of their child's hair in a baby book? And didn't the Schindler's visit Terri? And couldn't they have gotten a locket of hair while she was still alive?
A lock of baby hair is useless; if she was being given illegal substances, it would only show up in hair after the fact. The Schindlers were pretty much under guard every time they saw Terri, so it's unlikely they could have cut her hair. Plus, that might have been considered "therapy" or some other illegal activity per Judge Greer.
This was my first thought too. I wouldn't put it past him to try.
I just pray that people WILL respect the privacy of these people. Bob & Mary Schindler have been through a hell over this.
Too bad the Swiss Guards would not be out in force there! But I wonder if Bob or Bobby are members of the Knights of Columbus and could get them to keep order in the Church...
That MONSTER should've burned.
Not even allowing them to be by her side in her last moments or to even let them have a say as to how or where she was to be buried.
As for her being interred in PA instead of FLA.
One would think he doen't even want them to visit her grave. (I guess there'll be no grave since she was creamated)
