The succession and transition of a world power is at hand.<<<

Well, well, that is so true. Glad to hear that President Bush, and many others, acknowledge that the seat of World Power is in Rome.

You know, I am a polite person, so I will not reply to you in kind. I hope that one day you get the President you deserve. Good day.

For all our sakes, I hope I do to.

I am not personally slamming anyone. I feel our President has more important matters to attend to. Thats all.

Good day to you too.

This thread has nothing to do with the Pope either, OK? its about the most recent Photo-Op for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. One more way he can look good to Europeans, while ignoring his own Country!

Of course your right!! idiot

On the contrary, each living president who is capable of making the trip SHOULD be there. In addition to being the Spiritual Leader of 1.1 Billion Catholics, the Holy Father was also the head of the Vatican State, not to mention a World Leader in perhaps the truest sense of the term that we've seen in these 100 or so years, probably ever.

All of them, regardless of their current position or past political meanderings should pay their respects to this great man.

Dittos on your Cringing, Bb. I heard President Bush say today that he was leading "a delegation" to the Pope's funeral. It was inevitable, knowing the President's gracious nature and both of the clintons'gravitation towards a world stage once again.

the security will be a nightmare!

I'm sure that's why it was pushed to Friday, to give the Vatican and the Italian Govt. as much time as possible to prepare.

Now, I am ill. Why is Bush giving that stinking piece of...well, clinton so many photo ops? When I saw that POC at the Super Bowl with Bush 41 I was fit to be tied!

Glad to see W going...

^^

I am not glad about it. I am very nervous every time he goes out of the country. Our USSS can only do so much in a foreign country.

This kind of rude behavior coming from Clinton...I'm sure you weren't really surprised, just disgusted.

What a disgrace for he and the -itch to go.

Yeah, and Ix-42 will, no doubt, arrange a few lucrative appearances, around Italy while he's there on our money. Lord forgive me for the ferocity of my hatred for that scum.

Try and think of it as "love thy enemies". Maybe it will be good for the Clintons souls to be there amidst so many praying people. We can only hope.

This kind of rude behavior coming from Clinton

This was right after the Monica scandal and the Pope had been quite critical in public. I would just LOVE to have heard the private conversation between them. JP II had great tact, but was not afraid to lay down the law.

So he should ignore the funeral of a world leader because YOU are worried about the borders, I think he can spare one friggin' day for a funeral without getting crap for it.
