Do you know whether anyone ever tried to file for divorce on her behalf? I suspect that the law didn't allow anyone else to seek a divorce on her behalf and therefore the court couldn't grant a divorce. One of the biggest reforms that we need as a result of this situation is a law that would allow relatives to seek a divorce on behalf of someone in this situation.

I am not sure if someone asked for a divorce - but the Shindlers did request that Micheal be removed as the guardian because he was with Jodi. Greer denied the request. That speaks volumes for what Greers opinion of Terri's rights were. Of all the people most responsible for this it was Greer. He acted in despicable ways. He not only should have removed Micheal as guardian but he should have given Terri an automatic divorce based on Michael adulterous relationship with Jodi. Had he done so none of this would have happened. Unfortunately that was the type of law the Fl Senate should have passed the first time her tube was removed. It would have been impossible to find that unconstitutional.

Her guardian would've had to file for divorce. Regardless of the angle from which one views poor Terri's circumstances, she was in a catch-22 situation.
