Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly
homosexual bishop of his denomination, has angered
traditionalist Anglicans by suggesting that Jesus
Christ might have been homosexual.
Robinson, who left his wife and mother of his two
daughters to cohabit with his male lover, Mark, made
his inflammatory remarks during an address
titled, "Homosexuality and the Body of Christ: Is There
a New Way?" at Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham,
Massachusetts. The bishop was asked by a congregant how
Christians could both accept homosexuality and the
Bible's emphasis on redemption for sins.

What was up with Goober's hat?
This guy might really clear the pews ...
He should stop pulling things out of his arse, he could get AIDS if he is not careful.
this one has
"This theory will have to compete with the other prevalent theory now extant on the internet that Jesus was, in fact Irish. After all, He was over 30, had no job, hung around with the guys drinking wine and talking about impractical things, still lived at home with his mother, and believed that she was a virgin"
Yet another amazing Celtic accomplishment....:)
See post 197.
Like ALL gaysbian "priests", "pastors", "bishops", and lay "Christian" activists, "Selfish Gene" Robinson delights in cynical mockery of the Bible and traditional Christian language in order to make hs evil "gay" points. I know--I've seen them up-front and personal! Even the title of his talk is an example of cynical mockery, implying that the Body of Christ can be "homosexual".
"Selfish Gene" is a total disgrace to Anglicanism and Western Christianity in general!!!! Just because a monkey is dressed in episcopal robes doesn't make it a bishop. "Gay" bishops and clerics are no better than monkeys posing as bishops and clerics. "Selfish Gene" should be defrocked at once, before the Episcopal church (and other churches) go completely down the drain!!!!
By the way, Dave Tesla, did you choose your screen-name in honor of the great Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla? If so, it's a good choice!
It's really too bad Paul Lynde (of Bewitched fame)is no longer alive. He would have been perfect for the lead role of Langdon in a "corrected" gay version of the forthcoming Da Vinci Code film.
Or you fight to fix it. I was raised in this church and I will be dipped if I will be forced out. There are options, one of which is to be placed under the authority of a diocese outside the ECUSA (Episcopal Church USA). Please dont make the mistake of thinking that failure to leave implies acceptance of practices.
This is still Gods Church; someone needs to fight to keep it.
Ditto that.
Who played "Floyd"? Eugene Levy?
One of the most riotous of their sketches was "I was a Teenage Communist" - spoofing the Michael Landon 1950s campy B horror flick "I was a Teenage Werewolf."
I think they had Catherine O'Hara, Andrea Martin, John Candy, et al., playing jazz coffee shop existentialist Commies wearing berets and dark designer sunglasses.
Instead of being angry they need to get out.
I grew up an Episcopalian....now what?
FAITHFUL ANGLICANS, TAKE NOTE--The Archbishop of Canterbury has given his blessing to a group called the Anglican Communion Network www.anglicancommunionnetwork.org;
Ten Episcopal Dioceses have joined, as well as individual parishes. The Network will continue to be in communion with Canterbury even if (as is probable) ECUSA gets kicked out after the next General Convention (2006). They are laying the groundwork for helping people in bad dioceses when the split comes. There are already house churches in some areas. Contact them--the website seems set up for parishes and clergy, but they will glady talk to you. They just had the a wonderful conference in Virginia this weekend--Bishop Duncan of Pittsburgh was there, as well as the Primate of the Southern Cone (Latin America). They need lots of lay support. I live in the infamous Diocese of Newark, and I found this meeting very encouraging.
Where??
God. Will. Not. Be. Mocked.
