Confirmed.
I just gave you biblical basis.
No. The last pope will be Jesus Christ.
It's time for patience. This could go on for days. There were popes in the past who lay in bed day after day trying to get up but attending physicians trying to restrain them. Pius XII, a sickly man even before his election, lingered for several years before he finally succumbed.
I know.
Please, can we leave this thread for talking about JPII?
I see the rosary they're doing but not showing that on the scroller
Stay off this thread or your stay here will be short.
Well your post was directed to me so I assumed that it was directed towards me. However I stand by what I said about these kinds of times will be exactly when these questions will be asked, and I think that the Pope would be glad to know that even in his illness and passing he is inspiring this. So in light of that I think that the (sincere) asking of questions and answers is a legitimate way to honor him and his legacy. I do not wish to start a flame war or any such thing I just feel that this IS the time and place for questions as the very nature of this time and place inspires them to begin with.
Georgia, actually, doctrine matters. Just take a look at the New Testament.
I have to tell you, I'm not looking forward to MSNBC, CNN, and the whole gaggle of US networks opinion on the Pope and his legacy. It got so bad last night on MSNBC that I had to turn the channel.
Darth,
I was responding as a Catholic to someone who asked what the Catholic Church taught, I was not looking for an explanation of Protestant belief or error as the case may be, or your opinion on whether or not Church teaching corresponds with your own personal beliefs. I'm sorry about being a little touchy, but I'm not up for an apologetics debate right now, the Holy Father is dying.

God is certainly trying to say something to us, with the passing of Terri Schiavo and the Pope all around Holy Week. Also just last week, our own previous Bishop Edward Head of some 20+ years service was just taken by the Lord at age 85.
May He welcome Karol into His loving embrace...
OK, but as just noted in post 758 above, EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network), the Catholic TV network, itself is linking...those two persons in their prayers right now.
well said.... :-)
I doubt there will be much excellence anywhere in terms of presenting the Holy Father's life and legacy. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but certainly don't count on it.
Regards, Ivan
The interpretation I read implies that the last Pope will destroy the Church. If you're implying that "Peter of Rome" is Jesus, than do you assume that Jesus is part of the Church today?
thanks...
(My TV and computer are in different rooms so I'm scrambling around.)
"There will be two more Popes. The last will be the Anti-Christ."
Save it for later Pal, you and Oliver Stone and the dude who made up the Divinci Code
