Wonderful to hear the Hail Mary prayed in translation on Fox News.
To: bummerdude
The Vatican does not "announce" the death of a pope in that way.

Frankly, it's all of them in teh MSM..... It is a race to be first and accuracy comes in a distant second...
I remember the night of the elections, EVERY ONE of them saying "because of all of the 2000 election issues we will not give results until all the votes have been counted" teh day before the election. What a load of crap, they were still calling it early in MANY of the states..... It's just pathetic..

There are freepers on both sides of Shep. I come down on smarmy clown side.
Many of his compliments have the ring of back-handedness to me.
Especially since Shep knows that the Pope and the Vatican supported Terri.

JPII was an much an advocate for the pro-life position as any I know, and with a good sense of humor. I think he would understand the irony.

Ping me if you'd like to hear the thing rendered in song. Can't remember who performed it, but it is truely beautiful. I have it on my webserver at home, which appears to be having firewall problems at the moment.

It seems EWTN is confirming that JP II has passed away. They were. But a couple of minutes ago they broke into their "Pope is dead" programming to announce that he's not.

Shep had no control over what happened and he's not a clown. But he could learn a bit of discretion now and then. Note his abysmal ad-libbing on the Rosary about five minutes ago. . .
To: JustPiper
Vatican is denying he's died Francisco Franco and Yasir Arafat, however, are still dead!

Get a grip people. Do think the Pope would be proud of the pettiness that's being expressed here? I think not.

How perfect as they pray the rosary in Rome they are praying the new mysteries that Pope John Paul II introduced: The Luminous Mysteries (aka The Mysteries of Light).
A priest on Fox just explained the basis for the Hail Mary to Shep.

One of the best Reagan-Thatcher stories is when she was lambasting him on the phone once regarding a matter of importance and he covered the mouthpiece and said to an aide, with a smile, "Isn't she marvelous?"

He is HORRIBLE during breaking news, he is NOT good on his feet and the exchange about the "five Hail Marys, the Our Fathers and all that good stuff" is a definite example of that... AWFUL!!
