Question: Have the other networks reported his death, or only FOX? Now FOX is saying he's still alive. This is totally unacceptable news coverage - putting out a false report of the Pope's death.

OH Man finger slip should be now.

I just told my mother and I told my daughter to call her best friend who is Catholic. Fortunately, her friend wasn't at home. I'd feel terrible for upsetting someone for no reason.

Why were the bells ringing at the Vatican?
It was 8:30.
Another good joke. I am sure the Pope would love the light-hearted humor his passing causes.

Me too. 15 years ago this month. It never goes away, does it?
No it never goes away. Her b/day would have been on EAster Sunday this year. And she died on 3/31/90...Funny how I still hear her voice, when I'm getting ready to do something I know I shouldn't do!

The largest Catholic cable network. It's totally faithful to the teachings of the Church.

These media fools should be ashamed of themselves. Gotta jump the gun, be first, break the story.

This is totally unacceptable news coverage - putting out a false report of the Pope's death. But the report was faxed to them from a Kinkos in Texas.

The Vatican has a specific traditional routine when the Pope dies.
It is most respectful to wait for the Vatican's official announcement.

Me too! This is as bad as when Arafat died. I have announced twice at work that the Pope has passed away and now everyone just sorta looks at me funny....

A few minutes ago Pope John Paul II heard these words: Well done, thou good and faithful servant.O.K., now you've done it. That brought tears to my eyes. I'm not even Catholic.

About 20 minutes ago I was coming back from lunch and the announcer on the car radio (from an English language speaking station in Montreal) announced that he had passed on, too.
All the speculation by the media and the "he's gone/no he's not/he's gone" is appalling to me, and I'm not even Catholic (not even Christian!). It's SO disrespectful to a man who was a giant of the 20th century. This should be handled with dignity and decorum, not with reporters shrieking into their headsets and bad info flying around non-stop.
Every station is so keen on getting the scoop that they're ignoring how inappropriate their behaviour is.

Drudgereport.com reported the same thing. It came from the Italian news service, Sky Italy or something like that.
