"Good afternoon.........this is Fox News........OK, so the Pope is
not dead..........but he's not very well.....of course, he
will be dead soon.......well all of us will be really.........."
Dumb asses..........
To: Halls
Someone stated yesterday that the news (Fox in particular) just couldn't wait until he passed. Apparrently they were right. They couldn't even wait until he actually did to announce it.

He was so much more than that ... he was God's man for our times. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this great man, this humble and visionary man in your service. Rest in peace, Holy Father.

And on April Fools Day, no less. Many people are sad enough as it is, they could at least get this story right today!

Agreed. Pope John Paul II was a tireless fighter against the Culture of Death, in all its manifestations. May he rest in peace!

I bet Shep feels just awful about this.
I'll also bet the Pope would forgive him with an impish grin and a wink.

Why were the bells ringing at the Vatican?
It was 8:30.
To: PBRSTREETGANG
I have a spanish channel on and it appears to me they are saying he is dead. I do not understand Spanish but the little I am picking up seems to indicate the Pope has died.

There is a big long complex historical proceedure with how they announce a pope's death.
The bells are now ringing in the Vatican which is the first sign, but until the shutters on the windows are close then it is not confirmed.
