Fallujah post-mortem ("We are fighting. But the Marines keep coming.")

Fallujah post-mortem

Some Marine units moved through Fallujah in November with Arabic translators. The infantrymen wanted to be able to eavesdrop on the terrorists' radio net.

A Marine told us that, roughly translated, one terrorist was heard to say: "We are fighting. But the Marines keep coming. We are shooting, but the Marines won't stop."

The Marines, backed by Army tanks, captured Fallujah in 11 days and with it the last large base for Abu Musab Zarqawi.

I'd hate for the insurgents to fall for this next time

Armed forces have been listening to each other's radio since the radio first appeared on the battlefield.

Marines are "ground grinders". If you are on the ground that the Marines are grinding, you will be grinded too. Grind Marines, grind.

May the sight of a Marine landing party and the unfurling of the Stars and Bars and the Marine Corp Red loosen the bowels of anyone who faces it as an adversary for the next 1000 years.

Peace through strength.

Good morning.

Allowing troops to return to duty even when they have lost limbs is one of the smartest things our military has ever done.

We all serve our purpose.

I remember those arguments in my old armored division. The tankers are elite because they kick butt. But then there's the huge supply line necessary to keep the tanks from becoming the world's biggest doorstops, and the C3 to make the tanks effective, the infantry to go where the tanks can't, etc.

Rivalry and jokes are always fun, especially when you're picking on Marines :^), as long as you remember we're all part of a larger team.

My daughter has been discharged medically after losing and eye and her hearing (only in her left ear) in a grenade attack last year. The thing she desired the most was to return to duty not only in the Army, but with her MP unit in Iraq! Words cannot describe the pride I feel in her and a military that is filled with young men and women just like her.

But, didn't Ben Laden say Americans are lazy, weak, and lack determination?

It was more like a draw. We did kick their *ss at New Orleans at the end of the war (actually after the peace treaty).

Does my memory fail me or is that Baghdad Bob?

Marines, what Marines, I don't see any Marines.

As the mother of a former Marine I say, we can never thank all of you enough for your sacrifice--and your families as well.

Thank you for keeping all of us safe, to borrow a quote from those closest to my heart--you know who you are!

Actually I'm proud of my service, but the Marine title means so much to me as an American Patriot. God Bless all who serve.

If you're reading this, thank the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard!
