The Temple Mount has been administered by the Muslim Wakf, currently under the control of Jordan, since 1967. Israel is responsible for security, which I suppose this could fall under, however the Wakf has been destroying artifacts for years without action being taken.
That's what the Arabs in East jerusalem have done in Shiloah (Silwan to Muslims). That and make it a garbage receptacle.

I agree. Frankly if Jordan won't do it now that they've assumed control from the PA, Israel should assume complete control of the site.

It is all well and good to protest acts such as these. It is all well and good to insist on Jerusalem as Israel's "eternal and undivided capital." But what does it really amount to if none of the shouters is serious about rebuilding the Holy Temple?
Yehudah `Etziyyon is forbidden by law to even enter the Old City of Jerusalem. Why? Because he believes the Temple Mount should be Jewish, not moslem. What good does it do to make a big noise about what the moslems are doing if you never intend to take it from them?
On Ro'sh Chodesh Nisan a group called Revava will try to bring 10,000 Jews onto the Temple Mount. Do you suppose the people who are shouting over this desecration will support them? Don't hold your breath!
Meanwhile, while the moslems deny that there ever was a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, the self-anointed secular "leaders of the Jewish community" (and of Israel, too) can't bring themselves to dispute this because they've invested so much of their identity into rejecting the "chr*stian" Bible. It's against the law to deny the Holocaust happened. But it's an even greater crime against correct thinking to believe that anything in the Bible actually did happen!
