Defying all odds Terri is still alive.
Are you being targeted for euthanasia? (Schiavo case only the tip of the iceberg!)
Schiavo parents plan new US Supreme Court appeal
Florida lawmaker says he will consider impeaching Schiavo Judge Greer
Goodnight. I'm getting out of here in a few minutes too.
Good night, Wampus.
'night you guys. I'm off too.
Nite, kenth :)
anyone still up?
Yes, but I might not be your "Terri's Angel" of choice...
The precedent this is setting is horrifying.
I cannot sleetp.
I really wish I did not personally know Bob, Mary, Suzanne, and Bobby.
My heart is broken.
How the hell did justice fail us in saving an innocent woman?
LOL... why not?
I don't know.. I'm a little disoriented these days myself..
JMO, this has been set in the works for many years.
Before even the Schindlers had a clue where this was leading, the evil ones got Terri and this case in their clutches. They weren't going to let it get away from them. They likely knew that all the higher courts would rule to uphold Greer, and that the legislative and executive branches would not effectively oppose them.
Did you see the scathing written attack on the US Congress and President Bush by the judge for the 11th Circuit Court in his Majority Opinion denying the Schindlers? He attacked them in the most political and harshest language for their daring to pass the law of de novo review for Terri in the first place. Accused them of violating the separation of powers for daring to tread into the judicial realm. The judges are very, very angry, all the way up and down the line, apparently, that anyone dared pass a law telling them what and how to review.
That an innocent lay dying of court-ordered starvation and dehydration meant absolutely zero to them. They only agreed to hear the final appeal in order to have a vehicle to attack the Congress and Bush for passing the law, and to attack the Schindlers for their repeated appeals under it.
Seems the ones who started this years ago, in Pinellas County, knew what they were doing. The rest of us didn't see it coming until way, way too late.
Even now, our leaders, whom I personally support and admire on other issues, do not seem to get it.
I wonder if the Judge blasting GWB and Congress will wake any of them up?
You really don't know? :o)
If I knew I wouldn't be asking..
The purple is reflective of our Lords passion and suffering and the white for "The Resurrection". That's my story and I'm sticking w/ it. Thanks for letting me steal your "Kill the disabled- It's the law" bumper sticker.
well anyways.. I've gotta get some sleep.. once again, sorry if I offended.. I think I know the problem and I've decided to knock if off as it isn't constructive right now..
peace,
Awestruck
Well, you might be kidding around.
Anyway, I post what I honestly and truly believe, even when it conflicts with the rhetoric of bash, bash, bash against our leaders. I post that I disagree with our leaders, but I defend them from the bashing.
I have been in conflict with a large number of "Terri's Angels", whom I greatly admire for their devotion to this cause. As much as my heart and emotions are into this, I tend toward attempts at analysis, incisive commentary and factual discussion - that is, as I see them. Screaming headlines about the horrible Bush cowards, the attacks on Laura Bush...that's not me.
I don't agree with our leaders(including the wimpy Congress on the subpoena issue) on this at all, but I explain how they come to it, in their world of "must accept and obey court orders even when they're wrong".
(On that, I would like to engage them in a question session; for instance, what if this were Jenna or Barbara, or what about the Nazi orders to starve the Jews...they were "legal" too? Where is their break point: what would courts have to do in order to justify the Bushes refusing to follow their rulings?)
This does not fit in here. A few FReepers have told me it's okay, though. But the difference is STARK.
I don't kid much on here.. I have an awful memory.. only a few names stand out as enemies on here, and as I said yours wasn't one of them..
You have to be true to yourself and your beliefs..
goodnite...
God bless you Joanna.. for taking part in this from so far away.. I'm afraid I must get some sleep though.. 4 hours doesn't cut it..
(((HUGS)))
Sure, take some rest.
It's my praying shift now :)
Hugs and good night!
