School policies and practice do not permit parents to opt their children out of the training, even if it violates their personal beliefs and morality, ADF said. That's a very disturbing statement.

It's time we proclaim homosexuality to be a bona fide religion. That way we can force it out of schools. They do worship sex.

Gee, where's all the people who last week were saying that kids should not undermine school authority (like taking a picture of the principal breaking a state law on school grounds)?
Aren't they going to tell us that kids have to "respect their elders" and be blindly obedient to whatever the public schools tell them, EVEN off school grounds? Hmmmm???

"Freedom of Speech" is often brought up in cases such as this but I rarely see the "free exercise of religion" mentioned.
Logic would dictate that to deny someone the right to proselytize ie. free speech does in fact deny them the right to practice their religion.

Wow, shocking. The schools have gone from promotion of gays to forced indoctrination. Very bold that they would even try such a move. And it was inspired by the ACLU? Great civil liberties move there.

School policies and practice do not permit parents to opt their children out of the training, even if it violates their personal beliefs and morality, ADF said. It seems the school policy is teaching a religion, contrary to the liberals vaunted separation of church and state. Any time "all students" must attend a session involving discussion and cannot voice disagreement with what is taught there will be trouble. I would personally pre-train my son/daughter to stand up and have that discussion. I would stay away from religious concerns since they are personal and not as wide reaching as the fact that this is a dangerous lifestyle and one that we as a society would be wise NOT to embrace. What parent hopes their child will grow up and "pair bond" with a mate that denies centuries of tradition that marriage should be between one man and one woman? Maybe some people will be homosexuals, and certainly they don't deserve abuse, but they don't deserve or require normal acceptance either. Then I would let the school throw out my kids because they violated the school rule. And I would be ready to sue the school over any hint of this affecting school progress or grades.

The schools works for the taxpayer (at least in the sense that they would not exist but for the taxpayer) but now they think they can "mandate" their employer to do what they want them to do, and to think and act like they want them to.
In another case somewhat resembling this one in Texas, a school decided that they would automaticaly exclude students from ANY extracurricular activities whose parents did not attend a war on drugs education meeting.
Are they out of control? No doubt about it.

Here's yet another example of why high school as we know it is a doomed institution. We have been discussing inexpensive ways to fast track kids through high school to avoid the liberal agenda and other idiocies such as this:

Unfortunately my thread title was not well thought out, because some parents might instinctively skip over it due to attached stigma, whether real or imagined.

No school in KY should stand for this!! If one does, they will all have to follow. GLADSN OUT OF THE SCHOOLS!!!!!!
Besides that, morals are a faith based thing, and should not be taught at school. Mostly because their idea of morals, are immoral, but if we address it as morals being a religious thing, then they can't bring it into school?
We teach our kids tolerance, morals, manners, at home, AND in Church, schools should not be wasting time and money on curriculum being triple taught.
