Part 7 - EASTER SUNDAY -NO FOOD OR WATER 10-11TH DAYS- SHE'S FIGHTING TO LIVE [Schiavo]
Continuing thread ^ | 03/27/05 | various

After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.

Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.

Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.

The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

Oh, I think they can...if they pay for it, I don't see why not.

I certainly hope something good happens out of this. But the truth is still not being told; only those who aren't stupid sheep have even bothered to find out the facts. The rest believe whatever they're told; they're like robots without a thinking brain.

What's the use of electing Republicans if they cannot even prevent an innocent handicapped woman from being starved and dehydrated in broad daylight? The GOP is impotent.

That's how I'm feeling right now too. I feel like cutting up my RNC membership card and sending it back to them.

I've thought a lot about this.

And I have decided that they should throw away their scientific analysis demonstrating the state of her brain.

They should instead see her in person, and then let their human intuition decide whether this woman's life should be prolonged.

Fundamentally, this should be a human descision.

It does not require experts to decide this woman's fate, as the questions invovled here are out of their narrow league, out of the confines of their legal or medical specialty.

Simple and basic humanity should be the judge.

it won't hurt him, it will hurt the GOP and who we elect next.

We did all we could do and have nothing to be ashamed of. Those who participated in this heinous murder will pay.

I just feel so sorry for the Schindler's. May the Good Lord bless and keep them in the Palm of His Hand.

Terri - we know just where she's going - right into the Arms of Our Heavenly Father. She'll get a beautiful crown with lots of jewels!

Meanwhile, I will never be the same. Thank you, Terri, for waking me out of my comfort zone.

The alternative is not particpating in the political system on the grounds that whatever outcome is chosen by the voters makes no practical difference -- only philosophical debating points are truly at stake.

This whole thing tells me how crooked and out of balance our system has become, not how evil Jeb and W are.

My prayer is that this has opened the eyes of our leaders so that they realize what they need to do to correct this imbalance.

IMO, this whole case has been about three things, and they all used each other to accomplish their agendas:

1. Michale Schiavo's attempt to get rid of Terri for his own selfish reasons, whether that was for money or to cover up his actions or just to get on with his life.

2. The Death Culture's attempt to set a precedent, and to get a firmer foothold in this country.

3. The battle of powers between our branches of government, with the judiciary out to prove that they are in control.

Unfortunately, at this point, it looks like they all three won in one single case.

Now, what are we going to do about it?

I feel like cutting up my RNC membership card and sending it back to them.

That's exactly what I am going to do.

Exactly. As someone previously posted days ago...we're all just frogs in boiling water, it's just the GOP has it a lower temperature. So, really, what difference does it make which side you're on...the end result will be the same, it's just a matter of time.

I would think TAdams, that the Schindlers could have a memorial mass for their daughter ... in life or death, she doesn't cease to be their daughter.

I don't think there's anything blocking the Schindler's from having a Memorial Mass for Terri... I'm sure HE won't allow them to a Mass with Terri's body there... and in the Catholic religion, they do not (from what I understand) conduct a funeral mass with someone's ashes... the body must be present. So I guess the Schindler's will just have to settle for a Memorial service... how sad is that...

The court has given Michael God-like powers over Terri and hence, her family. How TRAGIC for them that this MONSTER should have this KIND of POWER over Terri's life.

Truth, I don't anyone says the President or the Governor are evil. I, for one, have always loved W.

He's done this all along. He dislikes press conferences, so instead of putting himself in some slight discomfort, he'd rather we just not know what he's thinking.

Besides, he can't be re-elected, so he only worries about his agenda. Evidently, Terri is not part of that agenda. You are right, he and his advisors are mistaken if they think they can get unwavering support from his party. Given the choice between W's agenda and a wrong I see perpetrated against our Lord, guess who I'll forsake first.

I agree. Why does everyone forget how Ronald Reagan led this country on these issues? Dubya had the chance to stand for what was right, lead the people who elected him to lead and sway the majority to the right side. He and his brother have failed us miserably.
