Man arrested for Michael Schiavo threat

A man has been arrested and charged with offering a $250,000 reward for killing Michael Schiavo.

Richard Alan Meywes was arrested in Fairview, North Carolina by the FBI and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

On March 23, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office forwarded an email to the FBI in Tampa which purportedly offered a $250,000 bounty on "the head of Michael Schiavo." The email placed an additional $50,000 bounty for the elimination of a judge who recently denied a request to intervene in the Schiavo case.

You are right. I think this hit the passion throughout America and there are enough criminal nuts for him and all the judges in this case to be at least worried IMO.

ROFL IF the guy has $300,000 that he is willing to payout, I doubt he needs a job!

He sold his Enron stock early. :)

"Has anyone been arrested for threatening to kill Terri yet?"

I'd like to know that too.

$300,000 sounds like a lot of money, but at MS's age (I assume he's early 40something...) that money would't begin to fund a retirement.

It is a shame that well intentioned people choose the wrong methods to accomplish their goals.

This event does bring a question to mind, though.

Michael was by law designated Terri's guardian when she became incapacitated. As her guardian he instigated the judicial murder of his wife.

It is my understanding that guardianship first goes to the spouse, then children and then parents.

Terri and Michael do not have any children that I'm aware of, making her parents next in line to her guardianship.

Would not a fatal heart attack suffered by Michael automatically transfer Terri's guardianship to the parents, at which time they could reverse this death process?

I don't know what version of FR you read. I have not noticed an increase in deleted posts on any Sciavo threads.

Yes, it is called terrorism, or Mafia. In either case, I don't want to be part of such violence

People here have lost their rational senses.

Me too Dog, I lost it a couple of days ago .... and perhaps you have some idea how really upset I might get. I thank the Lord that the case is not close by.

She had better hope that she never mysteriously collapses in her living room only to end-up in a hospital with MS at her side...

"Mike Shiavo's life will not return to 'normal' for some time. He is bound to know this and I'm suprised he hasn't caved under the pressure."

There is soooo much that makes no sense ... I'm convinced MS is part and parcel to a cabal of some sort that insulates and protects it's own.

Even tonight, every talking head has quoted the brother of MS but no MS.

We don't know it all and I wonder if we ever will.

Since he has that kind of money somehow I think that his financial situation may be better than yours.

I think I heard of something like that from the Palestinians as well.

I am sure (not really) that every pro-life Terri supporter is going to condemn this would-be murderer!
