Was there due process in Florida?
Many think so, in which case you'd be right; the Feds should have stayed out of it.
I do not think so, in which case I'd be right; the Feds were right to get involved.
Now, I don't disagree that everyone in Florida went through all of the motions but, it's like a rain dance; wearing the right costume and going through the motions just doesn't cut it if the water doesn't fall when you're finished. You can do a great job of practicing law, but that isn't the same as ensuring justice; just ask William Penn. (ref: http://www.juryduty.org/lawrence.htm)
If the goal of due process is justice, and justice is not done, then that ought to be our first indicator that due process was not done, either.
Sometimes being right and being righteous are completely different things.
Good for you, 'mom-!
P.S. Was it a good one?
Oh. Don't answer.
(I might get jealous because in my befuddled state of mind I failed to think of it.)
Agreed. I thank the Lord we have men of their calibre in the presidency and as a governor.
What in the world would FLA be like with a liberal in there?
"And I won't look at those posts you made last night after a little wine "
A little? ;) I'm not so sure. ;) But thank you!
And I KNOW that you of all people are not laughing, nor are you a Nazi. I know that for a fact, because I have seen you as a caring person.
I also find it sad that a lot of names I am used to seeing are just not here.
Sometimes emotions get heated but we've got to understand that we all stand for the same purpose.
Whenever I see these talking heads floating the GOP "talking points" about how great the 'issue; of Terrie would be, as if her death would be a great thing for the Republican party, well that is nuts!
Anyway, take care, Peach! :) And everyone. :)
Hey, ClancyJ-
Are you going to take that type of talk????
I would demand at the least, two more demeaning descriptives and one or two insinuations!
I mean, really-!
Kinda cool.
Where are all the liberals who scream and scramble to preserve the lives of the most wicked murderers on death row?
Where are all the liberals who tie themselves to trees and lay down in front of tractors to protect the snail darter?
Where are all the liberals who talk about women's rights and how states cannot usurp the federal law?
Where are all the liberals who will defend child molesters and terrorists?
Where are all the liberals who are horrified by prisoners in Iraq wearing panties on their heads?
And where is the President of the United States and the Governor of Florida - who swore to uphold the federal and state Constitutions? They have forgotten that the Executive branch is an equal branch to the Judiciary. They have lost their moral compass by NOT exhibiting backbone. They need to send in Federal troops or the National Guard and let the courts know that WE THE PEOPLE will no longer allow them to
tyrannize us. No food and water? What are we becoming? This is beyond shameful - it is barbaric!
t appears they do have supreme power in a sense.
We have given them the power to decide these matters and even though congress and GWB tried to change the outcome they still left the decision up to the men in robes> Jeb has left it up to the men in robes too.
I would bet that nutcase is a liberal trying to make the right wingers look like bombing nuts.
And water.
Never, ever forget how important it is...
My gosh. What it takes to remind us what we have.
OK. So now you don't have to doubt strongly the assertion by some that he is a probate judge. Unless I misunderstood the exchange at 250 / 233.
Apparently he's not even a state judge -- he's only a County probate judge!

"The fact Terri's is such a big story in the USA is NOT due to the US media, which in the past would have tepidly covered and colored these events. The blogosphere, talk radio, grass roots communications are keeping this story front and center. We are witnessing yet another example of the collapse of influence of the majority Leftist "mainstream media" at least here in the USA."
And increaingly, in Canada.
You are absolutely right, btw. :)
What is wrong with the little minion's brain Colmes, on the one hand he says we may be on different sides here, and that new dr. diagnosis is no good and bla bla bla, arguing the merits of M. SChiavo's case. THen he asks them if they want charges of murder brought forward...
How can he on the one hand be for Terri's execution, and in the same breath mention allegations of murder.
Savage is right liberalism is a mental disease.
It's an emotional issue, unfortunately it's gotten to the point of catch 22. It's largely been made by judicial abuse of power (Greer blew it, no way around that), and it's building to the point where the only way to fix it is with executive abuse of power. Neither is a good thing, and piling one on the other is just plain bad.
I was kind of hoping Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton would show up in Fla with their rent=a-mobs. Jessee is on Terri's side.
Wouldn't that complicate things.
Reminds me.
Hillary wanting criminals to vote.
But she managed to stay away from 'Terri's' vote.
Vile creature.
Is that stuff really in the book or are you doing a satire?
If it's real, Oh, my gosh.
