As emotionally involved as we all are in saving Terri's life, and the wish that someone would DO something, what you have suggested the President do is ridiculous.
Why? Don't just make general statements.

OK, I understand a little better, thanks. It seems extraordinary to me, though, that Greer would bar DCF before it's even acted. I wonder how often that happens. Greer certainly is a nasty piece of work.

"THEY are not the Governor of Florida."No, but everyone can take a stand. Didn't you see those kids arrested for trying to take water to Terri? If you are going to demand that the governor of a state end up in jail and give up his political career in the process, you'd better be willing to sacrifice just as much.

Someone on the radio said that Greer has to go home because he forgot to water his plants this morning.......It does look like he is playing out the clock. If so, this is a vile strategy indeed, toying with this lady's life.

Ah, so now I'm cowardly? Jeb is cowardly. The President is cowardly. The Congess is cowardly. We're all evil, we're all accessories to evil. Black is white, and white is black. Right is wrong, and wrong is right. Those trying to save her are to be denounced, those trying to kill her are irrelevant.
yeah, I understand perfectly.

If/WHEN Terri is taken into protective custody, Michael Schiavo will no longer have any say in her care. A new guardian will be appointed and Terri will never again be harmed, abused, tortured, starved, deprived, neglected, exploited, or otherwise HURT. Thank God. Come on Jeb Bush, show us what you're made of!!!

"If the Gov. HAS the authority to ACT, why would he ask PERMISSION from a Judge to ENFORCE THE LAW? "
That is an excellent question. The answer? Because he doesn't really have the authority to act and his own councilors have told him so.
This case is already under a court's jurisdiction. The entire point of the DCF taking custody is to transfer custody to the legal system. You remember that they must file with the court after taking custody, and then the court decides if that custody is proper.
But, in this case, there is already a court in charge of the whole thing. It's already in the court's hands. That is why Jeb can't just act, and he's had legal advice to that effect, I'm sure.
Again, do not get your hopes up.

Speak for yourself. Our country has a long tradition of disobedience to immoral laws. As I implied in my previous post, would you give the same advice to Martin Luther King Jr.? Would you give the same advice to Rosa Parks? Would you give the same advice to George Washington? After all, our country exists because we "broke the laws" of England. I DO think Jeb or President Bush should do something. That is the only way to get Greer's death grip off this case, to "disobey" his edicts. I don't believe he has the right to say what the Governor and President can and cannot do. I don't understand how he can have jurisdiction over state law enforcement agencies.... he's a COUNTY judge!

Somebody said earlier (in dark jest) that this sick judge will probably want Terri cremated It has been reported that he already granted a request of michaels to have her immediately cremated - and gave him permission to pay for it out of Terri's rehab money - money that never went to her rehab - all rehab denied for a decade - by michael and greer

What is lawful?" Jesus asked. "To do good, or to do evil?" Well...in that case..if people in here want Jeb to break the Law...then I don't understand why THOSE people who condone breaking the law don't go to FLorida right now, break in and give this woman ice chips? All of you together...storm the place. THe hell with the law then. Right? What would Jesus do? Right? Go do it!! Quit 'talking' about it. Action....go.....NOW.....

He can't bear the thought of his plants going without water, but starve and dehydrating Terri is a great idea.

Or fly on Air Force One back to DC to sign a bill at 1:00 in the morning to try to save her life?
C'mon! You may wish he could do more, but he has to stay within the law of the land.

No, it would not. Nothing would change. And if you're hoping that someone kills Michael Schiavo, you're not really pro-life.
