I wont go into all the reasons why - it seems some want him to come and grandstand - Jeb and "W" don't do that.

You stated it perfectly. Thank you. Grandstanding may make people "feel" better, but it will not save her life.

I agree, but neither do I want her taken into custody only to end up having the feeing tube removed again. Anyway this thing is sliced it looks to me like the courts get to decide. I don't like the chances in courts in FL. So Sad.

It's a good thing I live 3000 miles away or I'd be tempted to do something...

Yes, I'm about 1500 miles away. Those people there must ACT!

Jeb Bush held a 3pm press conference yesterday to (a) show that he is concerned and (b) make a toothless, weak attempt to intimidate Judge Greer. It was lame and was not intended to be a warning that he will act. Jeb Bush is like Hanx Blix in Team America.

"A "stand" is when you take Airforce One to Florida, a limousine to Pinellas County, and a walk into Terri's room at the hospice."

I didn't realize you would be able to post to FreeRepublic from jail. Oh, you're not in jail? Does that mean you haven't taken a stand?

Than I expect you to take a stand, fly or run down there and run past the guards with a bottle of water.

I agree with you. Shouldn't ALL of us on this forum who call themselves Christians do the same?

George Bush took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Here is his chance. (By the way, I voted for Bush and campaigned for him).

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me." John 14:1

I continue to pray and know that God hears our prayers.

I want to be able to make that apology too. But it seems we seldom go wrong by underestimating Republicans. Don't get me wrong, I'm no third-party Kool-Aid drinker, but I have a realistic view of our so-called leaders. Their political hides come first, doing right comes a distant second (at best).

1:04 ET - Good Question... If the Gov. HAS the authority to ACT, why would he ask PERMISSION from a Judge to ENFORCE THE LAW?

Matthew 26
59: The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.
60: But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward.

Matthew 27
11: ...Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.
12: When he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer.
13: Then Pilate asked him, “Don't you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?”
14: But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge–to the great amazement of the governor.
15: Now it was the governor's custom at the Feast to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd.
16: At that time they had a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.
17: So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18: For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
19: While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”
20: But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.
21: “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered.
22: “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”
23: “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
24: When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man's blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!”
25: All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”
26: Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

The Schindlers' Attorney failed to attempt to bring in new evidence. He tried to argue the case based on the prior evidence, which didn't work then.

Am I missing something?

That's not what you stated before. But regardless, currently Schiavo is the legal proxy for his wife. If the governor claims custody then I would assume that before he can take legal custody the court has to remove it from Schiavo and give it to the state. Only then can the tube be reinserted. I doubt that the court will agree.

" Have they surveyed people who died of starvation, I mean let's get real...hunger and thirst HURT. "

I bet those like Felos and Michael Schaivo who get misty talking about the peaceful and blissful death by starvation- are the first to whine when they have to fast for a medical test or miss a meal.
We've all been hungry or unable to eat because of the flu-it's a nasty feeling. And usually short lived.
And if it was such a pleasant experience,we would have starvation addicts instead of dope addicts.
Did they laugh at Auschwitz and refuse rescue because their lifestyle was so glorious ?
Illegals crawling through the desert, dying of thirst, don't refuse water.
Babies cry when they are hungry-they don't laugh.

It seems to me if Greer were just going to deny the request without much thought, he would have done so already. Perhaps he's finding a way to grant the request while still saving face. Again, I'm probably being naive. ******************

I rather think he's doing what all of them that want her head have done - drag their feet, letting Terri slip ever closer to a point where it will be too late to save her.

I suspicion he, like michael has been quoted as saying, is wondering - "Is the b*tch dead yet!"

If Teri dies, I have no doubt that some nutjob will do exactly that! Probably Felos and Greer as well.
