Irrespective of her ability or non-ability to swallow, my question still stands .... why did Judge Greer (find it necessary to) decree that she could not be given anything by mouth?

I VERY much appreciate your rant. There is plenty of blame to go around here.........primarily with the renegade, culture of death judge, but also with the lawyers who were unable to make this case to any higher court.

To blame Jeb Bush, whom I guarantee is in anguish today, is irresponsible.

When it's just Medved, I love listening to him and he makes great sense...I get to where I can't stand a lot of his guests, though...

I know... it's very trying. I get bummed sometimes but then I take my emotions out of it and try to learn how to argue like Medved does. But his show does wear me out sometimes. And today is "disagreement day."

OK, but I hope you're not suggesting some sort of theocracy here. I'm afraid that I'd have to oppose that pretty strongly.

Me too... As A Christian, I don't see compelling people by force, or power of government, to believe as I do to be what God wants...

Sorry to be obscure. Ya gotta watch "Finding Nemo" to get the reference.

FWIW: I enjoy nothing quite so well as a plate full of steaming hot rainbow trout, served up for dinner on the same day I caught 'em.

Disagreement day? Good thing my radio's off. Can't wait until Jerry Doyle comes on, though...Jerry I like. Our daytime lineup at the local talk radio is Ingraham, Medved, Doyle.

LOL!!! I thought of you today -- my son was here before his Comp II class he teaches and he started laughing when reading the newspaper. He graduated last spring but he says Mom -- should have graduated this spring so you could hear the great speaker they are getting and he is laughing like crazy. Then he announces it is Sen McCain!

We had Tom Brokaw who was horrible last year and now John McCain -- you couldn't pay me to sit through his speech! UGH!

You may not give a fig about our constitution or the rule of law

You may not give a fig to Terri Schiavo either (sarcasm folks).

It's more than one human being should be asked to suffer.

You could go to boo and catcall him. It'd be fun! You know how he inflates when his all-encompassing dignity gets insulted. You could sell tickets!

"Irrespective of her ability or non-ability to swallow, my question still stands .... why did Judge Greer (find it necessary to) decree that she could not be given anything by mouth?

"

Well, I imagine it's for the reason I gave. If she cannot swallow, then anything given her by mouth would be aspirated into her lungs, causing pneumonia. He forbad it to prevent otherwise well-meaning people from doing that and giving her pneumonia.

The court records include the medical reports on the swallowing tests (many of them) that were given to her and which demonstrated that she had no ability to take nourishment or liquids by mouth.

Some have claimed that they have fed her or given her water, it's true. However, the medical tests show that she cannot initiate swallowing in the upper esophagus. Have you ever had something "go down the wrong way?" It's pretty awful. That's what happens when someone can't initiate swallowing but who is given solids or liquids by mouth.

Again, I'm not there. I do not listen to third hand reports when there are reports of medical tests.

No sir. I'm suggesting we return to the original intent of the Constitution, and the will of the Founding Fathers.

Certainly you don't have a problem with that? Or do you, as an atheist, have a problem with the Founding Fathers?

(Please read my tagline.........it was written for guys like you. :o)

Probably to keep people from trying to feed her. She cannot eat or drink normally. She has been in this condition for over a decade. Does any of that register to you?

Ah, but even better is trout and eggs cooked on a camp stove beside the water for breakfast.

First, fry some bacon, then put it aside, keeping the fat hot.
Catch a couple of trout and clean them immediately.
Lightly season and flour them.
Fry in the bacon fat.
Remove and immediately break and quickly fry two eggs.

Plate and enjoy.

Thanks! We keep praying that God's will is done and in the process we have learned the forces of evil we are up against. Time to go after the culture of death so this is not allowed to continue to happen.

People need involved in their States because we are seeing once again that State Law is very important and people need to pay attention to the laws that come out of their State Legislatures.

We have Megan's Law that came about from a tragedy -- maybe in the end we will have Terri's law for those that cannot speak for themselves so that we err on the side of Life and never starve an innocent person to death.

That's not what I was talking about Chad.

As a Christian, you should know that the laws of this land were based on the laws of God.

Killing the disabled is neither Constitutional, nor Biblical. And obeying both is not theocratic in any sense of the word.

There are reports from hospice workers that she indeed could take liquid by mouth.

I agree. But, as a sinner, I believe the best way to avoid this conundrum is to accept such and follow our Lord's path to redemption.

No, not at all. The Founding Fathers were very careful to ensure that I, as an atheist, had the same rights as any Christian. They were great!
