"Moreover, in 1999, the FL legislature could have passed a bill that DIDN'T call food and hydration "artificial life support" like it did."

Or, they could have REPEALED the law that says it is. WHY didn't they do that???

Yes, Florida law should state its wrong to hold food from hungry and water from thirsty. However, its hardly an emotional reaction to be shocked when its discovered that Florida law requires some people to be starved and dehydrated.

He tried his best to find a way to end this. He failed.

And that's what he'll be remembered for....I'm really sorry to say.

Ooh, you naughty girl, you share my distaste for misuse of quotation marks!

Like signs with the word "Sale," in quotation-marks. Quoting whom? Or is it not really a sale?

And do you also share my dislike of the use of the word "quote" (a verb) when "quotation" ( a noun) is meant?

"Dan"

Every woman dreams of a Knight in Shining Armor.

Too bad the judges and the husband are the kind of men only Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, would love.

A Governor may not act illegally,

Nothing illegal about him acting where the courts have not only failed, but held both other branches in contempt.

She is also being denied last rites, which includes Holy Communion, one wonders if they could legally be forced to reinsert the tube for that specific purpose...

"The Bush brothers aren't going to sit idly and watch this lady die. They are patient, but right now the judges are thumbing their noses at everyone while this woman withers.
"

You are mistaken. They will not act. Don't build up false hope. As President and Governor, they must act within the law.

Why in the world doesn't the governor do something to save Terri that bypasses Greer? I don't get it - Greer is the blood-thirsty one who is murdering her. Why give him the time of day?

You're correct, Jen.....just about everyone you meet in the major cities and along the coasts down here is from New York, New Joisey or Messachusetts.....most of them screeching liberals.

The native Floridians are a decent, laid-back, courteous bunch of folks, but they're outshouted on every political front by aggressive northerners and the northern-controlled leftist media down here.

Time to compile a murder case against Michael Schiavo and his co-conspirators. Unlike the apparent attempted murder he has gotten away with, there's no statute of limitations this time.

Seems to me the situations are a bit different. In one case the state would open the records to protect and ensure the care of the patient (who is unable to protect herself due to incapacitation), while in the other, the state opened them to aid in their potentional prosection of the patient.

Luis - do you believe in the 2nd Ammendment? That's all about giving us the means to throw out a tyrannical government. If the framers of the consitution didn't believe it was possible that the system could be corrupted to the point of tyranny, they wouldn't have ensured us the right to bear arms.

"the way our legal sytem functions" does not assume facts not in evidence. Corruption is rampant in Chicago politics. If that's just the way the system works in Chicago, is it any less "corrupt"?

Furthermore, Greer does not have the right to impede DCF in its state-mandated duties. You see, DCF runs as part of a system, too, that requires its own integrity, and as an extension of executive government, justice has no right to breach the separation of powers by placing an injunction on its executive mandate. That's WHOLLY corrupt!

Why do the actions of the SCOTUS remind me so much of Pontius Pilate turning to wash his hands after rejecting the chance to intervene in the judicial and social merits of the case against Jesus?

You quote someone. When you do, what you say is a quotation.

I am a HUGE stickler for things like that. What hangs in my window are curtains; they may drape, but they are not drapes.

Why is George Greer not in jail? Why is James Whittemore still on the bench? Both should be jailed for contempt of Congress. Greer is the poster boy for why lawyers should not be allowed to be judges.
