Mod note: Calls for violence will result in suspensions
Michael Schiavo has filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking them to stay out of the case.
BOTH Bushes telegraphed yesterday they would act unilaterally.
The Supreme Court has called their bluff.
The last one to do that was Saddam Hussein.
I could say I'm surprised, but...you know.
On the plus side, I do think Greer's order attempting to restrain the DCF was out of bounds. I don't hold out much hope that DCF would accomplish anything, even in the absence of such an order, but there is that.
Hello? YOu do realize that that is because Gibbs didn't ask for any, right?
(Mahatma Gandhi, upon being imprisoned for non-violent resistance to government evil)
"Terry" should read Terri
Let's be sure we have her name right when we hang the Liberal's albatross around their necks...
I'd love to see those judges crawl into a spider hole! Then we'll try them for crimes against humanity...just like Saddam.
One reason is that at the county level, it appears the Sheriff, some current and former County Commissioners are involved with hospice [Greer is a former County Commissioner]. Felos was not that long ago CHAIRMAN of THE BOARD of the Hospice business, but later became a director.
I am still at a loss why US Justice does not step in for that reason.
There are millions of dollars riding on when and how this woman dies. There are allegations of dollars stolen from the US Government by the hospice [medicaid and medicare].
If the FBI/Dept of Justice were not blind, they would go in and take action -- just on the RICO evidence...
I think I would have rioted when I watched the cops putting handcuffs on that little boy and girl yesterday who tried to take in water.
"Jeb is too busy asking the courts if he can be governor today to actually BE GOVERNOR today. It's nice that he's running around trying to find technicalities to use in court.."
Any of us freepers who have got balls realize that Jeb is showing the world he has none.
So what's stopping you guys?
The big problem is that those of us who think Mrs. Schiavo shouldn't be starved appear to be in the minority. I know others have pointed out problems with those polls, but the fact remains that this case is very complicated and requires a great deal of time to even aquire a limited amount of knowledge. Most people are not following this as closely as we are here, and unfortunately, come down on the other side.
"It's now up to Jeb Bush. Let's see if Jeb's got the courage to do the right thing. If he doesn't, his political career will be over as far as I'm concern."
And if he does, his political career will be over, as well. In fact, if he does not act, he will simply serve out his term as Governor. He cannot run again, in any case, for Governor of Florida.
He will run, I imagine as a Senator at some future time.
If he acts in defiance of Greer's order, however, I would be willing to bet he'd be removed from office, under whatever impeachment or recall process Florida has.
While many people are adamant about this case, that is true on both sides. A Governor who acts illegally, and is found to have done so, is likely to lose his office forthwith.
That is why you do not see President Bush doing any foolish things with regard to this case, too.
If only it were just the liberals. Have you been reading some of the posts on Free Republic?
