Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.
UPDATE: The appeal at the SCOTUS would go to Justice Kennedy, he is who would decide if they would consider the appeal...anyone have any insite into him?
Actually, only two are Clinton appointees and one of them was the dissenter.
But Terri has so little time!

I know....but if you add in Whittemore, that makes 3...wasn't sure if the poster was talking the 3 at the 11th or 3 in total thus far
I counted Whittemore!
See 1685!

What a sad mroning. I woke up at 3 and just had to check the news...then couldn't get back to sleep...
If it goes to Kennedy, Terri is doomed!
"Hey now....you just best be leavin' our Goat Man outta this here discussion!"
Awww, it's o.k. This mean ol' goat only uses his horns on wolves who prey on helpless lambs.
I counted Whittemore!
Oh, so the dissenter and 1 other at the 11th were not Clinton appointees?
LegalEagle, just awoke and heard the news. I am shaking right now, hard to type this. Angry is not even close to describing my reaction. The 11th panel ruled as Whittemore, in contradiction to the statute from Congress and the President, after fooling around too long, as well. I feel devastated for Terri and her family and my country. Where has my country gone?? Words fail me.
As to the anger at the two Bushes, here's my thought for what it's worth.
FV has described the armed camp situation near the Hospice well. I truly believe she has, wittingly or unwittingly, nailed the most likely reason the Bushes do not want to send a force there by executive order. I believe there would be massive violence between such forces, and no doubt people killed and wounded. Someone ask me recently, on here, did I really think the "good ol boys" of Pinellas would attack a group of Federal Marshalls, or whatever? My short answer was yes. And they would attack the "good ol boys" right back.
See what you would have?
I am not justifying them, so much as I am explaining their thoughts, I would bet you good money. If not for that violent surety, I believe one or both would try to save Terri. That they do not should tell us something. Not that they are bad or cowardly men, but that they fully see the absolute gravity of what their actions would unleash.
And I will bet you they know, in their heart of hearts, that something is radically wrong in that place, and with the judicial branch, and with the death culture. I will bet you they are waking up to it in the harshest of ways. That it is already way yonder out of control. And that they do not have the American people on their side to strike back with force, because the American people don't grasp what we on here grasp. Far far from it. Their minds are far, far from grasping it.
With that in mind, starting a violent action in the streets to save one valiant woman and her family, but maiming and killing many more people on both sides in the process, is not something these men would choose. Being loving parents themselves, and loving their country of laws, not of Judges, it must be ripping them up inside.
That is my take, people can attack me if they choose.
Don't doubt a moment, though, that I believe somebody better get the act together and take on what has happened to this country. It is already a fait accompli...an accomplished fact... Could it be fought and won, over the long run? Most likely. But right now judicial tyranny, and a clueless majority of citizens, is running this country. The proof is there in Pinellas and in the polls and countless anecdotal stories.
Truth has indeed fallen in the public square, as the OT scripture so chillingly describes. Justice has fled from us.
God bless the poor Schindlers. God save America, if indeed it be worth saving.
Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that Terri has given us her words ... "where there's life, there's hope." Touch this wounded woman, that she may endure. Touch her parents, that they would endure. Touch the hearts of the Florida Senators, that they would act so that mercy on the least of these, may endure. Touch the heart of that one Judge, that this nation may endure. Touch the heart of one ... someone ... who will reach out to this wounded nation, that we might right the wrongs heaped upon this mother's child. Deny the Merchants of Death their sacrificial lamb, O God, deny them our beloved Terri. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may it be thus ... may it be thus ... Amen ...
Up here with tea and toast and praying!! I am so dissapointed but not giving up by a long shot!!
If it goes to Kennedy, Terri is doomed!
He's a Reagan appointee
It's a NIGHTMARE, and the worst thing I have ever witnessed in this country!!!!!!!
Amen
I KNOW!!!!!!
