[history]
Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

Yeah they love to exploit the totally defenseless.
As you can see it works. People here are trying to tell you that murdering them is "compassionate". It's the SOS only instead of using the word abortion, just substitute the word "vegetative state" and of course as in an abortion an unborn baby "doesn't feel any pain". Now they're trying to tell you that starving to death is painless and peaceful too. Never mind that it's untrue.

"non-cognitive function"
According to the nurse on H&C who gave eyewitness testimony and a sworn affadavit, Terri would talk and laugh at jokes. That is hardly non-cognitive, and certainly not theoretical.

Me too valleygal. I can hardly keep my eyelids open right now. Layed down on the sofa here but only can doze a bit and need to stay watch.
Hey, you're getting like me! I actually got 4 hours in today....
To: Eternagon
Terri was NOT in pain -- except now, that they are forcing her to die of thirst and hunger.
To: pollywog
Prayers for this mother's child throughout the night, dear Polly ... the Lord stands watch.

"doesn't feel any pain".
Next they're going to start talking about showers on the MSM.

I agree. I wouldn't even let my dog or our pet rats or hamsters go through what Terri is having to go through.
I feel terribly when I realize someone hasn't fed poor Max (the dog).

"I guess I'm talking about unbearable pain. If I was in a state where all I had was basic bodily functions and no ability to think or imagine, then I don't believe I'm human and wouldn't want to be "alive"."
Well then, put it in writing and I have NO doubt there will be someone to accommodate your death wish but I wouldn't impose your death wish on others. When in doubt, err on the side of life.

It's gettin tiresome to argue with some, so I didn't make myself clear. I frequently quote the post I am responding to, to make my comments clearer, but it's just very hard to keep pointing out facts to those who insist on ignoring them.
To: reaganaut
I would appreciate that very much. I can see now that we're going to have to be that explicit ... and that you do have to have a medical surrogate completely in tune with your wishes to fight for your and enforce your wishes. THANK YOU!

Interesting that MS brought up the fact she "wouldn't want to live that way" a full 7 years after her "accident".
Took him a while to think of it, didn't it?
To me, this is the "gist" of the whole thing that sadly the MSM IS NOT SAYING, which if they did would surely turn opinion bigtime.

There are some real sickos on FR.
All this "compassion" as an excuse to murder someone boggles my mind. It's the same da* argument liberals used to justify abortion and the EXTREME sob stories to try to rationalize it too.

"this is so very cruel what they've done to Terri....all the black-robed witches from hell."
Yes it is. They won't even allow a moistened wash cloth to her lips. Can you imagine how dry her mouth must be right now?

See, this is an issue of concern: stem cell research. Maybe this is a test case, but not a peep. Not one voice heard. Even for adult stem cell research.

"My kids were taught in Sunday school to sing it with sign language. :)"
I know a little sign language.
Oh the experience of seeing the expression on young deaf/mute children sing in sign language is one I'll never forget. God bless these children.

OK, we can do the tag team thing. :) I would but I'm tired now and likely to draw blood. This guy is just here to argue. ;)
