While you self-righteously parse the legal system of the State of Florida, a woman is being murdered before our eyes.
This is not about the law. This is about Michael Schiavo wanting a dead wife. The only difference between him and Scott Petersen is that he's doing it with the legal system going Atta-boy.

Oh, I don't know, the Nazis carried out a plan to eliminate the Jews -- that is one big difference. Something tells me this woman that was arrested will wake up tomorrow ok.

Why? Do we do everything in our power to save every starving person? As a nation, or individually? Its one thing to say this is a bad case, and that she should have the tube inserted. But how is the blood on all our hands?

Does anyone know the address of the hospital and room number where Terri is dying of thirst?
I wonder what would happen if she received 10,000 packages with a bottle of water via FedEx, DHL or UPS.

Don't like the law, work to change it. Don't ask judges to change it though.

If she dies, we did not do enough. No, we don't make a federal case out of every starving person, but this was a clear example of a nation of people, and all three branches of gov't failed to muster the resources necessary to sustain the life of one defenseless diasbled woman. I was brought up to believe we have three branches for Checks and Balances, but I see two entire branches being nullified by one judge. How could this happen?
I share guilt for being just a keyboard warrior and not doing everything I could have done. How is the blood not on all of our healthy hands?

I understand your point. But we've set up a system to have a person be the fact-finder. It has nothing to do with checks and balances. You are guilty of nothing but recognizing that the world is imperfect.

It certainly would, although I'm not sure it'd be desirable publicity. It'd make us look weirder than usual, even. ;)

"...how did that old fat woman get by the guards?"
She didn't get by the guards, yet that doesn't stop you from making that the issue (her looks and age) as opposed to what she is trying to do (save someone from dehydration, which you said is a horrible way to die and that you disagree with it).
Shame on you, man. Grow the hell up.
