Where in the law did it say the judges were supposed to re-insert her feeding tube as an intermediate measure? It seems to me that this was a big miss on the part of Congress.
Yes, and no one seriously would think that Clinton or the late Lawton Chiles would sit back and let a member of their Democrat coalition be treated in such a torturous fashion. Say what one will about their liberalism, but Clinton and Chiles would long ago rescued their base member.
If you buy this BS, you may have such an injury.
Taking the actions you state go far beyond the actions taken enforcing desegregation, and would set a truly dangerous precedent .
MIGHT BE MONEY AT STAKE? HA! LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURERS AGREE. THEY'RE SAVING BILLIONS.
FYI...
It Can't Happen Here....Can it?
Seems more and more it is haapening...due to overt judicial rulings, the PC agenda and sadly die to the populace's indiffernce.
That hospice is able to stomp on the rights of patients and their families because not enough famlies have fought hard enough and been bold enough in the way they fight. I'm not criticizing your family here and this is a general comment. But when a doctor refuses to discharge a patient who wants to leave and die at home, some families need to tell the doctor..."sorry, but she's leaving now," and then go in and carry the woman out of that place. Doctors are not a person's legal guardian and they can be overruled. You just have to tell them what's going to happen and then do it. BTW, it's crucial in negotiations with all kinds of people to be bold, strong, and tough. You know, it you don't like the deal a car salesman is offering, then TELL them salesman what price you're willing to pay, drop a calling card on his desk, ask him to call you if he wants to make that deal and then walk out. People have become way to passive in our secure high-tech world.
"So you're sort of an F. Lee Bailey meets Pontius Pilate kind of guy.
I guess I'm more of a results-oriented person.
The outcome to me is more important than the process.
I wouldn't care if a big stork came down and swept her away from MRS, Felos and Schiavo.
Especially if that big stork was a C-130 taking her to a place where she would be protected from these killers and their dispassionate supporters."
Yes-see my post No. 666 (unfortunate coincidence.) Time for some executive action. In fact, way past time.
I think my husband was right this morning when he said, "it's no longer even about life in death in America, it's about good vs. evil".
When you look at the left and their support of gay marriage, abortion, and now the murder of the disabled, but yet they are in support of the rights of terrorists and murderers on death row ( anti-death penalty), it is clear that evil exists.
They may also wonder why Martha is under house arrest while tried and true child molesters roam free.
So mentally handicapped people are fair targets. What is the cut off point,in your learned opinion?
In my view,Hawkins is good example because all the right to die people talk about are "quality of life" issues,so the quality of his life could easily be judged by others to be minimal. Not everyone will consider a life so restricted physically to be worthwhile only because he can be involved in intellectual pursuits.
That's the problem right there....It is dangerous to start deciding what is quality of life, different strokes for different folks. And then you end up with all sorts of definitions and it may be that Reeves or Hawkins don't make the cut.
If you think the good Dr. touting himself this way is of little or no significance, here's a fun little exercise: Google "Hammesfahr and Nobel." One name hardly gets mentioned without the other. Hmmm... wonder why?
"You can't compare this to Hawkins....that just makes you seem extreme yourself. He's a Noble Prize winner that can communicate effectivly enough to write at the highest levels, he has no brain damage, rather his is probly to big!!!"
I certainly CAN.
He's handicapped TOO.
WHO knows what Terri could have offered. We'll never know because Godless people like you chose DEATH for those who are not Godless liberals.
You indict yourself with your reply to me and don't even see it.
*bump*
If there is evidence of destruction of part of the trial record, then I sure hope it comes out. My instinct tells me that something rotten in the Florida judicial system is being swept under the rug. I do not think that this represents "justice," it represents the elevation of form over substance. The judges are circling the wagons.
We are not entitled to presume God's answer is "no" in this case as long as Terri is still alive.
Take some biochemistry classs man. After that you won't be an atheist any more. You wouldn't make it to the end of the month alive and well without the hand of God upon you.
As I stated in my original question, I am not a lawyer, so citing XXX vs YYY as justification does not explain this to me, since I don't know the facts of the historical arguments. I am willing to listen to cogent argument based on undisputed facts. I have not seen this, nor am I in a position to be exposed to it, so I must make my stand based on what is presented to me.
Saying something is so, because someone else said it is so, does not present a case, and that is what everything after the second paragraph of your response in legalese says. I am giving you another opportunity, but you seem to be lacking any cogent response.

BTW, my husband's brother is retarded, brain damaged and we wouldn't STARVE him to death. It's not his fault. We all PITCH IN and pay for his therapy since it is not covered by insurance. His brother is now in his 40's and has the mentality of a 6 year old. We have been paying for his care WITHOUT complaint for years.
