I believe this was the court that the Bush camp was going to appeal to during 2000. I think it was that court that was on standby in case the USSC would not hear Bush's case.
Everyone here reading this take the time to think about this. When you're sitting down to supper tonight with the family, think about how a court of this land has ruled that you aren't really just eating your dinner, you're engaging in medical intervention, an extraordinary measure, a heroic procedure, to prolong the lives of your family and yourself. Perhaps I should get a degree in pharmacy when I am preparing the meal, because in essence I am preparing a dose of medicinal product to adminster to those who will eat the meal with me. The local McDonald's better get a medical license for distributing that stuff that, when consumed, might be considered "medical interventions".
Silly? A stretch? Well, maybe. But, then again, I'd never thought I'd see the day when a court of this land would pass a de facto death sentence on a person known to be completely innocent of any crime.
Then the movement to cremate without autopsy must be BLOCKED!

I agree. His life should be a nightmare from here on out. He should not be allowed to live a happy life with his girlfriend, marry, profit in any way from Terri's death, if Terri dies.
I'm not sure he did. But it seems Frist, DeLay et al may have. They "assumed" that the law they passed would be followed. The judge was supposed to order Terris' feeding tube replaced while he reviewed her case.....but oooops....Clinton judge ignored them just like Judge Greer and the Floriduh Supremes did.
It's been an eye opener for sure. Congressional subpoenas were laughed at. Felos, attorney of Michael, called them bogus. Congress and President Bush and Jeb Bush are all bark and no bite.

You are SO right - No one knows ANYTHING about these people, other than what their co-conspirators (bar orgs, etc.) say about them. I'm reading the book of the First Things debate from 1997 about judicial tyranny and what religious folk and conservos should do about this insanity. Your suggestion is a good start.

You are mistaken. I don't actually have a position on this, except that any action must be legal. These end of life cases are always wierd in one way or another. I am not opposed to people making living wills to decide how they will be treated if in a terminal situation. Neither is President Bush. He signed just such a law in Texas when he was governor.
The question here is a legal one, and that is my only interest in the matter.
A rabbit. A Golden Retriever. A dolpin. A peregrine falcon. Anything would do. Anything at all, time is running out.
Then we might reverse the 60 or 70% who don't care about her death, and we could also enlist all kinds of forces on her behalf, from Hollywood, to PETA, to the UN, to most of the Democrats, the ACLU, Democracy Now, the Sierra Club....
Why *should* people disagree about this issue? Is there some need for "diversity for diversity's sake"?

I would love to hear your "trial lawyer" critique of the article of Post#80 here - specifically with regard to the way this judge has allowed and denied evidence and court standing.

OK, the issue is she is in a hospice for the dying, controlled by Michael Schiavo's lawyer, when she isn't dying. She isn't brain dead as she breathes on her own. She is disabled and a court has ordered that she be killed, not die in peace from natural causes. She has to be starved. Even then, she refuses to die. Three times.
She has proved, in her condition, that she does not want to die.
Now, she should be killed, starved and dehydrated, why?
BTW, you can criticize what I write and I can criticize what you write. Here's my criticism of what you write: Yes, you are advocating her murder if you are not advocating her rescue. Same goes for those who also advocate your positions.
Terri's quality of life could have been improved had her guardian afforded the opportunity for proper care and rehab/therapy. I'm still not giving up. Terri is NOT DEAD YET.
