PLAYGIRL editor-in-chief Michele Zipp has been stripped of her duties after she revealed how she voted Republican in the 2004 election.
Zipp, in an e-mail, claims she was fired after an onslaught of liberal backlash.
"Hello Drudge,
"After your coverage of my article about coming out and voting Republican, I did receive many letters of support from fellow Republican voters, but it was not without repercussions. Criticism from the liberal left ensued. A few days after the onslaught of liberal backlash, I was released from my duties at Playgirl magazine.
"After underlings expressed their disinterest of working for an outed Republican editor, I have a strong suspicion that my position was no longer valued by Playgirl executives. I also received a phone call from a leading official from Playgirl magazine, in which he stated with a laugh, "I wouldn't have hired you if I knew you were a Republican.
"I just wanted to let you know of the fear the liberal left has about a woman with power possessing Republican views."
Developing...
And B, thanks for the ping, hon.
Happy to do so! :o)
Political affiliation is a protected class in federal employment as of 1998 IIRC.
Bubba wanted to make sure some of his sycophants stayed in the gov't.
I'm just glad *my* pics are hard to come by. ;-)
I could not agree more! Hear, hear, I say!
He seems happy about it, whatever they are. I had forgotten about his pose for Playgirl. LOL.
Women have thier own versions of porn ;)
Movies & pictures don't do what books can (allow imaginations to run free :) )
Isn't porn just some fast way of saying popcorn? That's what guys tell me. And they tell me it's OK, not to think that it's bad. ;-)
Miss B, I haven't a clue, but that's got to be the funniest thing I've ever read on FR. Tweeter zone! Sounds like something Barney Frank would say walking by a candy store. ;-)
The Playgirl editor is a federal employee?
What state is Playgirl based in? You can look high and low, but you won't find my Republican voter registration. Not because I'm not a Republican, but because I'm a Texan, and Texas is an open primary state.
And I tell them so it I happen to know them. And I tell them that creepy old men's eyes are locked onto the zone, and that THAT'S NOT HOT (as well as just not being cool, period.)
I give the breezy-bellied girls my best disgusted look.
And I can do a KILLER disgusted look, trust me. ;-) It works, try it.
Luckily I don't personally know many tweeter zone jeans wearers. ;-)
Thanks, now I have to go pluck my eyes out.
It may not be a protected class, but employees can still sue over hiring/firing based on political idealogy.
My company's insurance firm offers a rider for just that instance. Pretty scary.
I would have thought Zip's bit of press would have been good for the magazine. Though, really, the original article was kind of confusing. Sounds like Playgirl hasn't yet outted itself as a gay magazine yet.
This should be noised about a bit...
Merely the tip of the slimeberg.. The only ones that DON'T know this happens are RINOs.. Democrats do, and real republicans do already.. RINOs would invent some infraction to have caused this blatant attempt at bigotry.. Course a "republican" working at Playgirl might be a RINOs herself.. might make a real republican of her.. I smell a law suit.. might even be class action at that..
Great episode......... do you have the picture of the big black guy at the photoshop? ;-)
