Continuation of Terri Schiavo daily March threads. Due to overwhelming participation we reached over 5000 posts in three days time!
Have had to be gone some today, but have kept up pretty well. I am beside myself with this. I believe this judge is doing exactly the opposite of what the law intended, and that she is doing it on purpose hoping Terri dies. I am angry beyond words at the judge, but the Congressmen misread the situation badly. They promised us that no federal judge would allow Terri to die while they judged the case, but that is exactly what is happening. So I am angry at them, as well, that they were so naive. Now I think only President Bush can save Terri, and as much as it pains me to say it, I doubt he will. I hope I am wrong. Tutstar, this judge wants to drag it out; her statements already indicate she will rule against Terri. But instead of doing it so the Atlanta court can take an appeal, she wants Terri to be so far gone, any help would come too late. I am devastated by this turn. How do you see it?
Re: the Stephen Hawking comment, someone on a different thread posted about him last week, and it made such an impression on me that I don't want that comparison to be lost for others.
Yeah, what texasbluebell said... :)
Can someone tell me for sure that either Bushs' could legally put Terri in protective custody?
Boy, I just needed to see that!
You come up with these sayings! :o)
The Judge is a he.
I understand what you are saying, and Christians are taught not to fear death. But, in my mind, this isn't about that. She has been denied rehabilitation, and her parents who are willing to work with her have been denied the right even to try.
The husband, who had said he needed money to try and help her, cut off all efforts at rehab as soon as he had the money. He has since moved on with his life, and started another family. As a part of starting his new family, he should have returned Terry Schindler to the care of her parents.
The courts have overstepped in several ways, first in considering food and water to be "extraordinary". If you accept, wrongly, that it is extraordinary since its delivered through a tube, and rule that it must be discontinued, it is still a travesty to rule that willing family members must not even try to deliver food and water by mouth. That is judicial arrogance, and moral idiocy.
I realize that the end of life is difficult to measure when its possible for machines to pump your lungs and pump your blood through the veins of a body whose owner has perhaps already left and isn't coming back. Of course, that doesn't apply in her case, since she is able to breath on her own, and even to sit upright, and respond to family.
There may come a time when I have to make the call to unplug a respirator, or a dialysis machine. When the time comes, I'll pray that God shows me when we have fought long enough, and its time to let go. If there are other close family members involved, though, the benefit of the doubt has to go toward life, since the other decision has no recourse, no chance later to change your mind.
But I can promise you that I will never, under any circumstances, cut off food and water to someone I love. It isn't going to happen.
I hear ya. I blasted someone who's been here 3 years but gave links. They came back and thanked me as they'd not seen them before. Then I was shocked.
"Federal subpoenas are spat upon and laws they pass are laughed at.."
Can't the U.S. Att'y Gen. enforce this?
This is a great link:

he may be actually studying the case before he makes his ruling.
You bet we are tired and worn Freepertwo. I am so weary and emotionally a basket case right now. I am not taking to this " Red Sea" journey we are on very well. I am going to have to rest by the wayside here for a while now. Going to read, pray and get refueled.Looking to My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for Words of comfort and wisdom.
Oh and yes, Welcome A. Pole.
Sadly many trial court judges are used to being ignored by annonymity.
If Greer had known his rulings would recieved the PUBLIC scrutiny instead fo mere "dusty" lawbooks, he may have thought differently.
Law is often an art rather than a formula.
I predict there will be a "Terri's law" in the future.
Yes...it is a good reading.
Glock rocks posted it on another thread.
Who is over this Federal Judge???????????
It's James, not Jane, but on Hannity someone said it was a she, but its not...it is a he....only if he rules for Terri...if not he is not even human
This may save you from doing a ton of reading and research. All you really need to know about this case is who's lining up for Terri, and who's lining up against her.
AGAINST: godless demonrats, the American Hemlock Society, the American hating, God hating ACLU, a scummy death loving promoting lawyer (Felos), a wife beating, adulterous husband, the MSM, etc., etc.,
Capiche?
I don't know.....I am so ignorant about this stuff...silly me, I thought federal subpoenas meant something. A real eye opener for sure!
Protective custody? Is that an option?
