Republicans ARE in control but I detect, from Frist and Spectre, a reluctance to use their power. I believe many are so absorbed with retaining their power that they let their core beliefs take a back seat to their political futures.

This is why the founding fathers were AGAINST career politicians! They envisioned one or two terms and then back to shop keeping or farming in the communities they represented.

Career politicians produce such animals as John Kerry and John McCain (and (G-d help us, Ted Kennedy).
