Today we met in Fayetteville, NC to Freep a motley rabble of socialists, anarchists, Code Pink-os, and other throwbacks to the 60's! As usual, we were well outnumbered by their hordes of college students, aging hippies and other bused-in protestors, but we held our own as always.
Please post any reports and observations on this thread only.
A flannel shirt over another shirt .. and he's wearing sandals? And the guy needs a belt.
Your Counting Coup link is bad. That should be interesting.
>>Not all the demonstrators here Saturday were against the war. Across the street from the park, about 200 people gathered in support of it and claimed that outsiders had come in and stirred up the emotions of the troops and their families.
`Anti-American protest'
"They're not holding an anti-war protest, it's an anti-American protest," said Kristinn Taylor, spokesman for FreeRepublic.com, a conservative news and activism Web site. "They are trying to undermine the morale of the troops and their families."<<
That is my cousin Jeff!!
Yellow on the inside, red on the outside?
Whoever she is, I'm proud of her and saddened she had to meet that miserable troll of a woman.
I'm using the WP photo of her sticking her hand in that "journalist"'s camera for wallpaper on my comp. I think it is powerful. Thay captioned that photo this way
"A pro-military demonstrator blocks the camera of an antiwar protester at a rally in Fayetteville, N.C., a few miles from Fort Bragg."
They actually called her pro-military instead of pro-war and called the Marxist an antiwar protester instead of a journalist. I can't believe the Washington Post gave us such good press. Awesome.
I'm glad I got to shout that hag down.
Whoever took this picture, thank you. I'm emailing it around right now. Great sign.
Che was a great revolutionary? I wish I could have been there. I could have told her how the Cubans I knew in Guantanamo in the '60s hated that man with a passion. He helped Castro destroy their nation.

I saw that guy in the video here. I thought the same thing: Santa in a nun's habit
Only two of your pictures are showing up!
I am the man holding the 82nd Airborne Sign statng "Protecting your cowardly butts since 1917.
This sign was creagted by the wife of an 82d soldier currently in Iraq. I had the honor of holding her sign while she was being interviewed by the local newspaper.
She is a wonderfiul example of our young generation, solidly supporting her husband.
My name is Jeff Murray. I am a Fayetteville resident and former Republican candidate for Sheriff of Cumberland County. I am a former US Army Infantry Officer and veteran of the Grenada invasion. I also swent to Iraq from Jan - Mar 2004 and worked as a security manager for a contractor.

No picture to add, just a note that I did make it home safely.
Great pix from everyone else, though! I'm sending the link to this thread to my aunt, so she can forward it to my cousin at Ft. Benning.
Did you see the goon lurking behind the barricade in your photo of the young lady? We have got to be more vigilant next year. These losers have plenty of dumb kids with criminal records who don't care a whit about going back to jail. Someone could have been seriously injured by that fool. We were lucky.
I can't wait to see the rest of your pics. If I can help freepmail me.
