Greer gives order
Are we Cesar? Terri would have died already without the medical capabilities we have today. People decades ago never had these problems. Today, we need to ask ourselves: what do we want whether we are in Terris situation? Everyone of us has to write down several possibilities that can happen and what he/she wants then to be done. I don´t want to lie in bed for decades without the ability to communicate, to understand, I wouldn´t want the machines to kept on. It´s terrible that Terri didn´t write down her thoughts, this should be a lesson for all of us!! Nothing should be above the free will of the individual human. For me, the only question in this case is, what would Terri want - and the courts had to determine whether her husband or her parents can speak for her.
May she leave our world in peace with herself, her family and friends.
You sir the sick person I was refering to, I value life, even of those who can not help themselves as the Bible commands.
True, but I think we all know that inserting, removing, reinserting a feeding tube isn't a pleasant experience. I think the judge ought to have it done to him a few dozen times.
To 'remove the tube,' wouldn't Terri have to be taken to a hospital?
Thank you!
A fetus is in a semi-vegetative state and attached to a feeding tube. What's the difference?
I am with you. I never heard of a State Judge being able to override a Congressional subpoena. That would make it impossible for Congress to ever subpoena anyone again IMHO.
Regardless of the outcome of the feeding tube, that could well be next on the agenda. This guy needs to be investigated.
It was step number one on the road to Auswicz.
Is that you, Doctor Singer?
You know, I'm not in Florida... and I can't tell folks what to do, but I sure as hell would be standing in front of and blocking the doors if I could be. Guess that's not a very good idea though, since you'd get arrested for tresspassing.
So.. what about... well, never mind. That's illegal in this country too. I guess you can't lynch people any more, since that would be murder.
Yes they would. That's the beauty of issuing the subpoenas rather than enacting some post hoc legislation that would be struck down by the courts. Greer is now in contempt of congress as is any doctor who removes the tube.
Just think, we may yet again get to see the Florida Supremes wade in on a Friday afternoon..
WELL! MY mom is one of THE most ornery old ladies ever!!! BUT BUT BUT!!!!!!!! There is no way in he!! I would take FOOD FROM HER!!!! To deny her THE VERY BASIC of human needs. Food.
WHAT a stupid statement, Monroe. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I am sure Governor Bush is evaluating options. I have faith that he is doing all he can. Pray.
Judicial Tyranny
Am I going nuts here or is Jack Kevorkian in jail for doing the same exact thing? This is unreal. Death row inmates get delayed for 20 years and they are going to starve this woman for just being disabled?
Your knowledge of what Terry has and hasn't done is lacking.
Yea,
Can Bush issue an Executive Order mandating that the poor lady be fed?
If I were brain dead, the machines would be off already here in Germany, or they would be kept on to take some organs from me the docs have use for (don´t worry, I have filled out a declaration that I want to donate organs).
