Can Bush issue an Executive Order mandating that the poor lady be fed?

The President or Congress for that matter as I understand it has not the ability to overrule state decisions in cases that are subject to the state.

Don't think the White House would get involved in this. (As much as I would love for them to do that!)

I'm not sure he can. Maybe a lawyer is able to answer that.

I would think he can. An executive order is just that, an order by the president. I surmise this order can be almost anything except an illegal act. The question is: Is the order to let someone live an illegal act? I don't think so.

If the President or the Governor can legally issue such an order and they fail to do so, their political careers, IMO, are over.

Hoping and praying for a miracle.
