You are soooo wrong. Everything I have said does involve the case. Emotionaly and morally.
Just imagine if it was your child. That's all. If there was a glimpse of hope for some recovery, as in this case...
And what does me being a Dr. have anything to do with being human?

One thing's for sure...a whole lot of people are now wondering if we're actually as nutty as the Left claims.I consider people who want to dehydrate a human being to death to be nutty.

Well, you must not be talking about this case, because there is a marriage here. Legal and all.It appears to have been a sham marriage for a while now, given his affairs and current long-term cohabitation with a mistress with whom he has fathered 2 children. I think there are legitimate questions about whether he has had her best interests in mind over the last several years.
It is a royal mess. Hopefully this will spur many to think through how these issues could affect their own lives and those they love, and sit down and make plans for what could happen. If a living will is what someone wants, they need to draw it up ASAP, not put it off.

Indeed.
I have been watching, hesitant to really dive in because there are no winners in this case.
That being said, we can't sit back allow the Federal Government to pick and choose what muddy waters they wish to dip their toes in when it comes to State issues.
You can just IMAGINE the outcry had the roles been reversed with a different subject, and a Democratic controlled congress.

And he is saying that Congress has no authority in this case. It's funny. When the 10 command case came up in Alabama, some conservatives were saying the federal government had no authority and the judge should stand strong. Those same posters are now begging for federal intervention and for the state judge to fold...

Your standard response to arguments is "I will not be baited"
I think you should fish or cut bait (graciously concede) Howlin.
I do it a lot, it really is quite refreshing, hmbling, but not at all humiliating.

Well, that's the debate...glimpse of hope...after 15 years there are those who say there is none. That's why we are where we are. Most of us will never know what it's like. I know I wouldn't want to live like that, and I know the people I love wouldn't want to live like that. Again, in this case, I think if the parents want to take care of her, in their home, with their own money, she should be released to them because there was no written consent.
This case, if nothing else, will make millions of people put their wishes down on paper and save alot of grief for the ones they love.

That being said, we can't sit back allow the Federal Government to pick and choose what muddy waters they wish to dip their toes in when it comes to State issues. I'm quite libertarian and am big on states rights. However, the FedGov already sticks its nose where it doesn't belong in thousands of cases, so my attitude with this case is f@#$ it. What's one more instance of interference if this can save Terri.
