In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

A big part of the problem is the RINO's. They are just as bad as the liberal democrats only they are counted on to be what they are NOT. The Conservatives should have taken ahold and gotten rid of the well established RINO's long before now when you can't count on their vote at a critical time.
And nobody is suggesting that you have Dictators or Kings. But your Constitution has three branches and the Governor or the President can sign an Executive Order in special circumstances such as this one. Governor Bush would have been the logical one to do it. And it is YOU that totally misunderstands if you think we blame God. God gave man a FREE will. The Conservatives and Christians have been lazy and apathetic. How else could this happen for decades right under their noses. It will take determination and action to start going in the other direction.

Is a request to testify the same thing as a subpoena?
Members of Congress went to the U.S. Attorney in DC to ask for a temporary restraining order to be issued by a judge, which protects Terri Schiavo from having her life support, including her feeding and hydration tubes, removed... Developing...
