With all these mean Democrats speaking against Terri (I have not heard one Democrat for her), how in the world can this pass with a 2/3 vote?

Do you know what a "wampus" is?

My dad always calls my kids a: "wampus cat...with barbwire eyebrows!" whenever they do something extraordinary or tough!

I think you are a "Wampus Cat" too!

Bless you, fv!!!!! Listening to these Crats dribble on and posture is making me sick .. even Ginny Brown Waite .. or Waite Brown .. whatever it is ..was horrible because her daughter is a healthcare worker (people don't use nurse anymore?) and told her she wouldn't want to have a feeding tube because she takes care of patients with them....to send her home to God. Gimme a break!! Christopher Shays was deplorable .. can't they see this is about a very special circumstance and not across the board, and that those with Living Wills are protected???

FYI

Living with a Feeding Tube

Recently, I have seen or read several items about people thinking it would be better to die than to get a feeding tube. These have upset me very much; first because they’re inaccurate and second because they’re unnecessarily upsetting to ALS patients, especially those who are newly diagnosed, and their families.

A while back there was a letter in the Digest from a woman whose mother has ALS. Her mother was trying to decide if it would be better to starve to death or get a feeding tube. Also, a few months ago, some of you may have seen an episode of POV (Point of View) on PBS titled The Turning Point. It was about a medical resident learning to come to terms with her dying patients.

A large part of the show dealt with a hospice medical social worker talking about his wife who had died several years previously of MS. He talked mostly about how they had agonized over whether or not she should get a feeding tube and then when she got it and he had to take care of it he wondered what they had gotten themselves into. I don’t understand what all of the fuss is about! I can’t believe that anyone would seriously prefer death to getting a feeding tube.

I’ve had ALS for twenty years and a feeding tube for almost four years, ever since a gall bladder operation substantially worsened my condition. Of all the problems I’ve had to deal with because of ALS, the feeding tube is by far the least of them. Taking care of it is easy. It’s just a matter of opening a can of formula, pouring the desired amount into the feeding bag, and turning on the pump.

The worst thing about having a feeding tube is having it inserted initially via endoscopy. Even that isn’t too bad because you’re sedated, although not anaesthetized. Surprisingly, even though I enjoyed food a lot and I had very few eating problems compared to many ALS patients, I don’t miss eating at all.

So, we need 218 Republicans in the House tonight to vote. I'm sure Delay got it done, but I sure would like to know for sure there is enough for the vote tonight so I can go to bed instead of waiting for the vote. Anyhow know?

When the Republican Party calls me asking for contributions, I tell them that I give directly to pro-life representatives and candidates.

Very good idea; I'll be sure to do the same from now on.

Hi all. I can't sleep. I have to wait for the vote.

God Bless everyone for the efforts involved.

I know that when this case gets SCOTUS review, they
will no way rule for HINO and the sicko lawyer.

"A few I've met have permanently moved away to live here in the mountains, and not surprisingly, they are decent and honest people."

Yeah, I remember when I lived in Florida lots of people wanted to move up to the mountains - and did.

That's great news that ambulances are waiting to take Terri to the hospital to be rehydrated!!!!!! :o)

Oh, we need 218. I thought we had to have 2/3. Already three or four "Republicans" have come out on the MRS side. I have not heard a Democrat for Terri.

Death is big business down there, seemingly moreso than other states. A few I've met have permanently moved away to live here in the mountains, and not surprisingly, they are decent and honest people.

Through this, I have gathered that death is a big business. Interesting the decent honest people have moved to the mountains, lol! : )

If Debra Bushnell, Esquire has threatened the hospital to NOT TREAT TERRI LATER ON THIS A.M., MAYBE MORTON PLANT HOSOPITAL WILL LET HER IN INSTEAD OF MAKING HER STAY OUTSIDE IN THE COLD NIGHT AIR. We may have to find a way to contact Delegate Bob Marshall.

Ambulances are at Hospice Woodside NOW.

Michael Capuano D Mass
"I'm here to speak for myself. [I thought you were elected and paid by them to reflect their voice??] Let us make our own decisions! Its not up to you! Its always been that way and that's how it should be! STAY OUT OF MY FAMILY LEAVE US ALONE LET MY FAMILY MAKE MY DECISIONS WITHOUT YOUR INPUT."

Reminds me of the benefit of the Protestant Reformation...the message at least gets out that salvation is by grace alone through Christ alone. It's not believed, but it's heard.

They hear our Republican desire for smaller government. Part of it at least.

It seems there, whether you have an R or a D beside your name doesn't matter! That's sad.
With that kind of attitude, they could fool some folks.
Looks like they certainly have.

How's Kentucky? It's a beautiful state!

I'm getting back to the thread late.

I missed Trent Frank's speech. :( He is a wonderful, godly man. I've heard him speak here in town (might have been a pro-life dinner) and saw him at the Republican "party" downtown on election night. Very approachable guy. He was a state representative in the 80's and at one time worked for Family Research Council here in AZ. I think he lost his bid for US congress once before he won.

I'm so glad did win.

I know that when this case gets SCOTUS review, they will no way rule for HINO and the sicko lawyer.

I wouldn't say that at all. With O'Connor, Kennedy, Souter, and Stevens being "Republican" judges, why would you think they would not side with MRS?

He cam back form his vaction early.
We all need to give W credit. others may have criticezed him for not doing more earlier, but at this moment he has shown that aht he says he does. He IS in Washington, apparently staying awake (and it is common knowledge that he likes to go to bed at 9pm!) and waiting to sign.
Let's hoe the House can deliver the votes because the Senate Passed it unanmously.

Get W some coffe somebody.....
