Delay was very critical of MS, I wish I had gotten it down.

Something about "what kind of a man" does this?

BTW, have any of you seen this? It's one of the pieces referred to in the magical mystical post #87 awhile ago: http://www.sptimes.com/2002/07/10/TampaBay/Who_s_watching_guardi.shtml
Who's watching guardians? An audit finds the county isn't monitoring guardians for the elderly and infirm.

Officials failed to carefully monitor guardianships set up for the elderly and infirm, leaving some of the Pinellas County's most vulnerable citizens at risk of being defrauded, an audit has found. ...

The Pinellas County problems predate Greer, and it would seem likely that the GOP insiders are involved in the corruption and thus refused to allow the election of any judge who would stop it.

Terri's not the first person these people have tried to kill. She just has the distinction of having steadfastly refused to die like she was supposed to.

Oh, sorry, I was talking to someone about what Michael Savage was saying last night about Greer!

That's not from Delay's pc.

Then they explained the ramifications. Judge Greer still has jurisdiction. Why would he change his mind on Terri at this late date?

It is amazing to me that the same people who justified keeping Christopher Reeve alive are the very same people now screaming for the "right to die" for Terri.
They made it an election year issue, supported the spending of tens of millions of dollars to keep Superman, who was on almost total life support alive, and yet support "right to die" and Euthanasia, what this is really about, when it suits their political cause.
I HAVE A VERY SIMPLE RULE: WHEN IN DOUBT, ALWAYS CHOOSE LIFE .

They've done nothing to help. They KNOW MS and Greer are scum, they said so. But they are incapable of stopping a penny ante judge.

Judge Greer could face criminal charges if he lets Terri live. I don't believe he is going to change his actions on Monday.

Why should he? He wouldn't have had Terri's tube removed if he was going to follow the law.

We better get ready to make Jeb Bush do his job. He needs to take her into protective custody.

Why on earth do they have to wait til Monday to pass this horrible bill. Then Judge Greer gets a day or two to disobey the law, then low and behold Terri is dead.

Federal Lawmakers Reach Deal in Schiavo Case
Compromise Bill Would Put Florida Woman's Case Into Federal Court

Reuters
Saturday, March 19, 2005; 3:33 PM

WASHINGTON- Federal lawmakers reached an agreement Saturday on a compromise bill to prolong the life of Terri Schiavo, a brain-dead Florida woman whose feeding tube has been removed, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said.

"We are confident that this compromise addresses everyone's concerns," DeLay, a Texas Republican, said at a news conference. "We are confident it will ... restore nutrition and hydration to Miss Schiavo."

Senate leaders earlier had reached a deal to push forward the legislation that would put Schiavo's case into federal court, a Democratic aide said.

The agreement would allow the House of Representatives to reconvene to pass the Senate version of the bill, said Jim Manley, spokesman for Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada.

Reid and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, a Republican, reached the agreement a day after doctors followed a court order and removed the feeding tube that has kept Schiavo alive for the last 15 years.

Such cases have traditionally been the province of state courts, state legislatures and families. The bitter family struggle over Schiavo's fate was taken up by Republican lawmakers in Washington last week.

But the bills passed by the House and Senate were vastly different in scope and the two sides were unable to reach a compromise.

The House-passed bill would give federal courts a role in such end-of-life cases, while the Senate's narrower "private relief" bill would give Schiavo's parents access to a federal court without applying in other cases.

The Senate will convene at 5:00 p.m. EST to vote on adjournment, which would allow the House to reconvene after it declared a recess earlier this week. The House could approve the measure later on Saturday, the Reid aide said.
