Like many other FReepers, I subscribe to Kerry's email list to see what he is spewing out to his supporters.
Check out this beauty, which just arrived.
He wants to "save" the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. That's right, those evil Republicans would destroy it - by permitting drilling on less than 1/10th of 1% of its territory.
This is the Kerry (King of the SUV) who wants us to be less dependent on foreign oil?
Oh, and for the humor-starved among us today, you'll get a chuckle out of his claim that the Republicans are trying to "sneak" the legislation through! Yes, everyone knows that public debate has been stamped out in the Senate!

We have only 24 to 48 hours to try and save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
The Republicans are trying to sneak legislation through the Senate approving oil drilling and they are incredibly close to winning. We have to stop them.
I am joining with Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Washington) in offering a critical amendment to stop this sneak attack on our environment. We will fight on the floor of the Senate, but we need you by our side.
There are seven key Republican Senators whose votes will decide the future of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Before they vote, we need to make sure they know that their constituents are watching, and that they will not be able to support drilling without anybody noticing.
Here are two critical steps we can take together to support our amendment to protect this National Wildlife Refuge:
1. Join the Citizens' Roll Call First of all, take part in a massive fast-moving display of citizen support for the Arctic Refuge. Sign our Cantwell-Kerry Citizens' Roll Call now.

U.S. Geological Survey scientists estimate that there is very likely only enough oil to supply America's needs for six months. And oil companies admit that, even that, won't be available for at least 10 years. An irreplaceable natural treasure, the Arctic Refuge is home to caribou, polar bears, grizzly bears, wolves, golden eagles, snow geese and more. Millions of other birds use the Arctic Refuge to nest and as a critical staging area on their migratory journeys. Of course, the Arctic Refuge supports more than wildlife. I just got one, too. This fight's going to be very interesting with all the liberal-demokkkRAT, enviro-wackos crawling out from under their slimy rocks. The lies and BS will get real deep, quickly.

The more info that gets out about how new technology lets exploration and drilling be done with no harmful environmental impacts makes Kerry & Co. look even more foolish than ever.
Who would vote for him there? Certainly not the people of Alaska who are tired of the US oursourcing oil related jobs to the middle east.
Oh no, I wasn't aware there were only 19 MILLION acres of land there.........I might have to rethink my stance on drilling................ ;^)
All that drilling equipment would be ugly and spoil the view with oil derreks, etc. ... too bad that unsightly equipment can't be moved as easily as the unsightly fire hydrant in front of Kerry's Boston condo that the city moved per Kerry's request!
I just noted that at the end of the email, Kerry shamelessly includes talking points.
Two things:
1. he doesn't even attempt to argue that exploring and drilling in ANWR will damage it. He knows that isn't true.
2. He has the audacity to mention that native peoples consider ANWR sacred ground - but fails to mention that by overwhelming margins those very people FAVOR drilling in ANWR! What cheap exploitation by Kerry of the "sacred."

But of course, the REAL reason for this email to Kerry's Kooks: Please make an emergency donation right now.
He is rich enough to afford those SUV's that he does not own, and can pay for their gas. Ordinary folks like us would like cheaper gas, and gas without political risks, so drilling in ANWAR makes sense.
To state that the drilling causes wildlife damage is nonsense. For example, the population of elk and deer in Prudhoe Bay has risen since exploration was started. Population damage was done by oil drillers in former communist countries but not by Big Oil.
Kerry is a total waste. He is substituting windblowing for windsurfing.
Of the 19 million, only 2,000 would be drilled on, which is equal to 0.000105263158 of the land mass!!
