Is the same French Boy who wants us out of the Middle East? Finally, he has a plan - let's buy more oil from the Saudis! (laughing)

Yes let's replace the unsightly oil derricks on the frozen tundra with unsightly windmills (aka 'eagle killers') all over the lower 48 instead.

"Save" ANWR? John, Jimmuh already saved it...He saved it so we can drill it!! HAHAHAHHH!! That was a good one... Do these Demoncraps have any shame? Every time they put out a "call for action" it's accompanied by "send us your money".

Do their DUmb supporters actually fall for this en masse? I know some fall for it, but can so many really be so stupid? Nevermind.

Incredible.

I bet this man will NEVER go anywhere in politics again.

Any estimates as to how much recoverable oil is in the Alaskan National Petroleum Reserve? Thats a huge area. The BLM awarded new leases on the reserve to several companies last September.

We need to drill in the artic. If we do not, Mr. Kerry will have no gas for his SUV's, his motorcycles, his offroad vehicles, and all thoser other sporty vehicles he rode out during the electio he failed to win.

It took me awhile to find this; it has some information relevant to the ANWR issue and effects on caribou.

Thanks for the info.

I figure the libs in Congress know this, but that doesn't stop them from pandering to their enviro-whacko supporters.

Thanks.
My information came from the Economist. They also point out that with modern technology, the platform can be much smaller and with a single platform, they can drill in multiple directions leading to as much as 25 wells per platform (in contrast to the 1:1 ratio of bygone era).

Casting a Cold Eye on Arctic Oil
9/10/03 New York Times - Nicolas Kristof goes to Alaska to investigate ANWAR (Alaska National Wildlife Refuge) and offer his opinion on the Bush administration's proposal to open it to energy exploration (aka - oil drilling). A vast majority of Alaskans, both Democrats and Republicans, support the plan. Of course, Kristof opposes the drilling, but what is most interesting, besides the fact that only 7% of ANWAR would be open to drilling (and perhaps only a small percentage of this 'spoiled' by the drilling), is this statement in his story: It's also only fair to give special weight to the views of the only people who live in the coastal plain: the Inupiat Eskimos, who overwhelmingly favor drilling (they are poor now, and oil could make them millionaires). One of the Eskimos, Bert Akootchook, angrily told me that if environmentalists were so anxious about the Arctic, they should come here and clean up the petroleum that naturally seeps to the surface of the tundra. (all emphasis mine!)
