Onyx's husband fell thru a glass door and severed an artery in his arm this morning. He almost bled to death while waiting for 911 to come, but they made it.
They've been at the hospital since noon, with him in and out of surgery. They are back in surgery now, with 3 surgeons trying to repair a lot of torn and severed veins and archeries. He's lost a lot of blood, they've given him 6 pints so far.
It's very complicated, but those are the basics.
Tonight, I had sent her a private e-mail, telling her about our puffer fish biting my wife and being flung out of the aquarium, and almost dying because of it.
Now I feel so darn silly!

Husband is a doctor...he instructed me what to do... that's why he's still alive.
He was helping me move boxes when he tripped and his arm went thru the glass portion of a door. It almost severed his arm and the house is so full of blood, it looked like a murder took place.
It TOOK 911 17 minutes to get here. Then the emergency rooms in closest hospital were FULL... had to drive with sirens blaring an extra 10 minutes.

Then I wrote to Onyx asking if she wanted me to relay the details of the accident and her husband's condition. Here's her latest:

Continuous prayers for Onyx's husband's swift healing and for prayers for continued strength for Onyx.
No, they were together.
More details now that I'm a bit calmer...
They called 911. It took the paramedics, etc. 17 minutes to arrive. Then, the emergency rooms at the closest hospital were full, and it took another 10 minutes to get to the hospital where he is now.
That hospital's ER was almost as full, but they couldn't go further - the next one was probably just as full, anyway.
She is spending the night there. He was still in surgery 30 minutes ago.
She's being told that he has lost a huge amount of blood, but the saving grace is that, strangely enough, he has 2 arteries there instead of one as usual. Had he only had one, he wouldn't have made it.
I have a strong idea that our silly messages, will be important to her in the days to come.
