Kerry Pacer was used to the whispering behind her back, the name-calling and the snickering when she walked down the hall. But when almost the entire student body at White County High School booed as she accepted a rose from a female friend during a Valentine's Day (news - web sites) program last month, she knew it was time to do something.

i dont call myself a christian because i believe the church aint nothin but a man made moneygrabbin judgemental sepretist association of people who think that there better than everyone just because they show up on sunday mornin and wenesday night doesnt make you a true believer..

A couple of points. If you don't call yourself one, why are you posting on this article ?

As far as not judging others, not judging does not mean accepting evil (and that is what it is) as a 'lifestyle'.

Some kids do get orders of protection against their school mates, and it's a real hassle for the schools to keep them separated.

"super sinner" class -- no can do

I've been re-thinking the silliness of your claim here. Should Paul have addressed his letter to "the Corinthians and all sinners in the environs, since there is really no difference between the saints and the fornicators around about..."???

A refusal to make distinctions, to be discerning, doesn't do a Christian credit. In this specific instance, these kids at the prom were merely doing what the men of God should be doing: calling sinners to repentance. A "boo" is considerably more gentle than promising hell.

Oh, so you live in Talibanland?

Sorry, dude, your philosophy is going to die of association with the Enemy, just as genteel anti-Semitism died in the 1940s of association with the Enemy of that era.

I've seen lightning up close

God was warning you to renounce your sin of hating America. I'd listen up if I were you....

But this fire-and-brimstone "repent-ye-wretched-sinners" stuff is just a load of crap. I am a conservative, yes, but that school of thought is not what I care to be associated with.

Alas, now farmer18th is going to have to report to the other DUmmies that the latest attempt to grafitti FR with bigoted screeds (which could be trotted out as "evidence" that conservatism = bigotry) got shot down (as usual).

now that the Republicans have made so many gains, maybe they can cut the crazies loose

In fact, it is abosolutely essential that they cut the crazies loose before they start losing their gains.

While I can't quote the stats to you, I've seen a study that shows if a boy with homosexual urges can simply avoid acting on them, these urges will likely die down drastically by the time he gets to his mid-20s.

There will be time to listen to your arguments after the GOP takes care of higher priorities:

1. Reduce taxes
1a. ...to zero.

2. End terrorism
2a. ...and convert its state sponsors to perfect Jeffersonian democracies.

3. Slash government
3a. ...to the point where the federal government can conduct its entire operations out of a Ramada Inn.

Oh, so you live in Talibanland?

Only a limp-wristed, ignorant, inhaling idiot would draw a line between the Taliban and the Judeo Christian standards that the framers claimed were essential to sustain and nurture republican government. Are you calling John Adams and John Jay "Taliban" as well?

Conservatives should remember it very clearly: unrepentant homosexuals are children of the devil.

The wages of sin is death. Those who are in the thrall of the devil tend to go to him a lot faster. Considering the ridiculous rate of self-destructive behavior in the "gay" community (spreading of STDs, drug-use, violence, suicide), it's perfectly reasonable to assume that if there was a force of evil in the universe, this is how his minions would act.

The most compassionate thing any Christian can do for a person with homosexual desires, is to help lead that person out of the "gay" deathstyle.

Take a look at yourself before judging others..yes there lifestyle is wrong, but do not judge, for on the day of repentance we all stand before god,

True enough. However, attitudes like yours that enable individuals who are in the thrall of obvious public sin to rationalize it away as 'who God made them'. If I were committing such a heinous public sin as many unrepentant homosexuals do, I pray to God someone would tell me in a very forceful way--rather than sitting back and applauding my depravity under the guise of phony "tolerance." The person who enables a sin becomes party to it.

Yes, and we still have slavery in parts of Africa today, and there are still places where only men can vote. I assumed we were discussing the U.S. If so, my point holds.

I agree. I always wondered when Gays say I knew I was gay when I was 5, 10 15?/How for cryin out loud?

For many of them, it was the age when they were molested. Sad but true. This is why we desperately need much more draconian penalties for child molesters.

The most compassionate thing any Christian can do for a person with homosexual desires, is to help lead that person out of the "gay" deathstyle.

Imagine the Baltimore reprobate described here were a pick-pocket and that her date were a pick-pocket. Imagine they show their affection for each other by picking each other's pocket in a ceremonial celebration of all the pilferage they have committed against other members of the student body. If the crowd "booed" them, they would be engaging in the kind of shaming Mothers Against Drunk Drivers routinely use in calling attention to a social sin--shaming the offender.

The loving thing, of course, is to lead homosexuals out of this lifestyle, but the love usually can't start until the homosexual feels enough shame to seek help. If, however, the shameless libertarian wing of our movement insists that there are no social, spiritual, or economic costs associated with homosexuality, we will go right on paying for every new strain of virulent death bred in the caldron of people who eroticize their own excrement.

Both those with heterosexual and those with homosexual tendancies need to be taught to retrain their passions and not act upon them

Well, can we at least tattoo them or something? Because, I sure as hell don't want my daughter to end up with someone who had to train himself to not act on his homosexual urges!!

Be careful some of the unlettered Gen-Xers will begin calling you a DUer if you keep up the unfettered logic and truth.

Chosen One of course, does not know her history. The Witch trials were in the 1690s and they represented far less burning at the stake than what transpired in old England. What people may not know is that witchraft, in the 17th century, was a crime against society. There were no witch lobbies arguing against the penal code of the day. Anyone reprobate enough to embrace witchcraft knew what they were in for, and they knew they deserved it.

Practically all societies had penalties for practicing "witchcraft." Ancient Rome did. It was also perfectly legal among the "peaceful" Algonquian and Iroquoian tribes to kill a sorcerer. Yet, somehow, only Americans get tarred for doing it.

Just another example of condemning the acts of people hundreds of years ago based on 21st century secular "morality." I have often thought that those who support abortion will someday be judged similarly by future generations. Time will tell.
