Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

...McCain is near the top of the list.

I'd hate to see what's at the bottom of your list.

Let me ask you this: Do you honestly think that Bush would leave the GOP high and dry up to and through his second election without some indication as to his successor?

For a guy who seems to have an uncanny knack for anticipating, he would be a joke for not letting the party know that he's got a guy/gal in mind.

For what it's worth I think he'll probably let Cheney retire early and get Condi or Jeb or somebody to take the VP slot. Otherwise he's sold the party out bigtime.

Then again Michael Steele (Lt. Gov. of Maryland) has said he'd serve at the President's request in any capacity. Now that would rock.

I believe that she said "Federal" government. That would turn abortion regulation back to the States, get the federal courts out of abortion.

Personally, I'd like to see a Human Life Amendment, but I'm not sure that such an Amendment would be necessary at all, if high handed, activist Federal judges would simply understand that life does begin at conception.

I often wish I could get Representative Ron Paul to compromise his ethics on this, so he would vote to interfer more. But, he wouldn't be who he is if he compromised his ethics, would he?

Yes, Rice is known to be more pro-choice than just the three exceptions.

Do you have anything to back this assertion up? I'll believe you if you can find a quote anywhere.

George Allen has a strong resemblance to Alfred E. Newman.

I suspect our views on the abortion issue are identical. I see no reason to visit the sins of the father or mother on the baby.

But that's where the similarity ends. The object is to move people in our direction, not make them gasp.

I knew a woman who had her third abortion. Her reason; her boss told her it was completely irresponsible to get pregnant right now with the deadline and all...

That is disgusting. I hope she's just an acquaintance and not a friend.

That's all. Just wanted to make sure posters on this thread understood your position.

My position has never been in question. I have been here almost from the beginning of this website and you won't be exposing me on something I have never equivocated on one iota.

Calling a murderer a murderer is not unchristian unless you embrace some cult or something.

You advocate the murder of innocent babies while hiding behind some imbecilic "exception" rule,,,AND I'M increasingly nuts? That's rich.

I'll take my chances on who is nuts here. Anyone who excuses or advocates murder of babies is nuts.

And while you and that other person are throwing around the Christian thing, consider this,,,someday you will get a chance to tell Jesus all about your "exception rule" for babies who were created by rape or incest. Then ask him if God made a mistake in having these little ones created. And tell him all about how you and George Bush decided to "remedy" his little mistake by killing these children. It should be instructive to hear yourself say those things to the Savior.

Talk about needing prayer....

Yes. You don't have to believe me, and I'm not going to get into it, but yes.

What they are doing now is floating a trial balloon. She will ratchet up or down her statement, depending on the response.

F16,

If we can have the best of both worlds, then of course I want a pro-life candidate. I know you think that I am presenting a hobson's choice or a false dilemma, but who is really out there waiting in the wings for the republican party? I am open to suggestions, but I dont see anyone (please dont say Frist, because we all know he would never win).

Sandford is our Governor and I've met him a few times. Very personable and bright. Very conservative and a good businessman. Got the highest rating possible, IIRC, when he was in Congress, for handling money issues.

If Steele is who I'm remember (spoke at the Convention last year?) -- he's absolutely awesome.

Anybody who refuses to vote for Condi Rice based upon her views on abortion is just a one-trick poney.

We don't need you. Furthermore, the African-American vote will cancel your votes out.

And then there's the woman's vote.

If you're willing to vote Democratic...or not vote at all because she is "mildy pro-choice"...(what is that? like almost pregnant.?)then you are SOL.

Gosh, I never knew there were so many evil, fascist, murderers in the country. You just keep up with your lovely language...you're moving me more and more firmly in my position.

Last year, I was opposed to abortion in any form. Then I started visiting threads like this one but didn't post because of the ugliness of the threads.

Listening to people like you has moved me to the left. But then, I was just evil anyway. LOL

You have your ways, I have mine. If they saw a babies brains being sucked out, do you think they would gasp less?

Maybe I can be forgiven for being extra vociferous tonight, my first grandchild was born today and when I looked into her eyes this morning and saw what God gave us,,,, and now to think that these people think she would not be God's creation and gift to the world if she had been conceived by a criminal act,,,and thus should be murdered,,,well, lets just say I don't suffer fools gladly.

May God forgive me, but these people can go to hell for all I care.
