Public Schools Must Do More, Says PFLAG
(AgapePress) - For those who ridicule the whole notion of a homosexual "agenda," a recent press release from a new coalition of lesbian, "gay," bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) groups was unwelcome news.
In a joint statement released January 13, an alliance of 22 organizations spoke of a "shared vision," which includes the legalization of same-sex marriage, the continuation of promotional efforts throughout the nation's public school systems, the inclusion of "sexual orientation" in federal hate crimes and nondiscrimination laws, and an end to the ban on homosexuals in the military.
The coalition consists of LGBT groups such as the Human Rights Campaign; Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation; Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network; the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and the American Civil Liberties Union Lesbian & Gay Rights Project.
"The speed with which our movement is advancing on all fronts is absolutely historic -- and it hasn't happened by chance or by accident," said the press release. It cited the LGBT movement's "instruments" of change: "lobbying, electoral politics, impact litigation, grassroots organizing, public education, media advocacy and more ...."
The statement also accused pro-family groups of continuing to "confuse, distort and subvert the public debate," even while homosexuality continues to become more acceptable in the hearts and minds of the American public.
Example: PFLAG Pushes Agenda in Schools A pro-homosexual organization began 2005 with a demand that the public school system do more to normalize "gay," lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered lifestyles. The group Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) released a study in January that claimed public schools were failing to educate students about homosexuality and were failing to protect LGBT students.
According to PFLAG's numbers, 95 percent of school counseling departments had little or no resources for homosexual children, and 70 percent of schools did not train faculty to stop harassment of LGBT students.
Nevertheless, some parents think their schools are, in fact, already pushing the homosexual agenda too far. In Massachusetts, one mother is upset that at her kids' school, John Glenn Middle School, a rainbow flag flies overhead and pink triangles adorn classroom doors.
Also in Massachusetts, that state's legalization of same-sex marriage may be emboldening homosexual teachers within the public school system to promote their own lifestyle to kids. For example, according to an interview on National Public Radio (NPR) All Thinks Considered, lesbian eighth-grade teacher Deb Allen said she explicitly teaches her students about lesbian sex, including the use of sex toys.
NPR reporter Tovia Smith said, "Already, some gay and lesbian advocates are working on a new 'gay'-friendly curriculum for kindergarten and up."
But this is not just a phenomenon occurring in the liberal northeast section of the U.S. In Kentucky, a federal judge ordered Boyd County middle and high schools to require all teachers and students to attend diversity and tolerance classes on the subject of homosexuality. The decision came after a lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, after the county school system refused to allow a Gay-Straight Alliance student group to meet on campus.
What agenda? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
My kids are grown, but if a teacher was showing 8th graders how to use sex toys in MY community, they wouldn't have an ass left to use their toys on.
Here's an email that I composed and sent out to my mailing list:
Hi brothers and sisters,
I have finished putting the We Are Family Foundation pages up on my web server, but first a little background:
Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family and Rev. Lou Sheldon of American Family Assn. have been leading the charge with respect to the We Are Family Foundation propaganda.
We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) supposedly began following the tragedy of 9/11. Nile Rodgers, a very liberal music producer, used the horror of 9/11 as a launching pad and catalyst to further his agenda. That is completely despicable, and he should be ashamed of himself.
WAFF was created for no other purpose than to indoctrinate Americas youth. The engine for change is no surprise the public school system. A curriculum was developed around a diversity message and it pulls heavily from other sources, two of the largest being the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) and a website www.tolerance.org run by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The WAFF website was initially registered in March of 2002 and has slowly developed since then. The site underwent a drastic change in look, feel, and content beginning in February of this year. What would drive that sudden change? Nothing else than the light of truth that was shone into its murky abyss. Dr. Dobson commented via his radio program how a video was being put together using a whole host of entertainers, both human and animated. He made a comment about SpongeBob being a covert effort by the entertainment community to introduce homosexual tolerance to youth. This set off a huge firestorm of debate and ridicule. Most of the derisive comments were aimed squarely at Dr. Dobson.
The fact of the matter is that SpongeBob is indeed symbolic of the homosexual community. I dont know if the character was initially created that way, but the homosexual community has used SpongeBob as a form of mascot (I wont go into reasons why since they are disgusting). This information can be verified (although I dont recommend it) by doing a thorough Google search.
A critique of Dr. Dobson and Rev. Sheldon is that they were confused and in their zealousness went to a different site: http://www.waf.org to get their information. WAFF maintains that the two websites are wholly unrelated. As many of you know, my specialty is computers and I would dispute WAFFs assertation. I spent some time gathering web evidence last night and I have a pretty high level of confidence that the two sites are related, with waf.org preceding WAFF by a few years and of a much more limited scope. However, I cannot prove my suspicions 100%, so take my remarks in this paragraph with a grain of salt.
Anyways, the current WAFF site is pretty antiseptic other than its inane worldview. Please take a look at it: http://wearefamilyfoundation.org since this will be important to view the changes that have been made. WAFF contends that their website does not promote homosexuality and invites any viewer to find a place where it does on their website.
Now, please go to my website: http://www.datatogo.com/waff and you will be presented with some links to the WAFF website as it existed in January of this year. You will see many broken images, which is normal since WAFF has deleted those from existence, but you will easily be able to see the text. Also, you will probably get a little dialog box that pops up and says Do you want to debug?. Just click no. The old WAFF website utilized some Javacript that no longer exists.
You will see major differences between the new WAFF and old WAFF websites, and can clearly see how the old WAFF website was replete with propagating homosexuality and, in fact, had that as their main focus.
As I stated previously, the old WAFF website used information from other sources on the internet. These other sources still exist and will allow you to see the content in its entirety. Here are the two links to do that:
http://www.tolerance.org/teach/web/wfc/
http://www.adl.org/prejudice/closethebook.pdf
Pay particularly close attention to how their methods focus on turning children away from the one true God and his son, Jesus Christ.
We must remember that the battle rages on. Please get this information to as many of your friends and relatives as possible. The FedEx company has agreed to deliver 61,000 packages to elementary schools this month, free of charge!
In Christ,
Politicket
Teaching our youth about our form of government, so that they understand how power is achieved in their community...
Teaching our youth about our history within the context of the recorded history of the world, so that they understand what the human race has accomplished, during recorded time...
...those are not as important to the Educational agenda as are the discussion of sexual preferences.
I am trying, really hard, to visualize such a "coalition", but vision fails Me. Will it help if I fill a bucket with worms, and stare at it for a while? Androgynous, O.K. that checks out, slimy, Hey, another check mark. Crawls through the topsoil breaking down waste? I think I am on to something!
.
Homosexual Groups Unite To Push Agenda? Oh their aching butts.
Homeschooling is an alternative. We in the homeschooling community are raising the leaders of tomorrow!
This is the first I've heard that they were related. And the owner of WAFF denied any connection on FoxNews shortly after the story broke. Do you have further documentation to support your suspicion?
All I know of is their association with tolerance.org and the adl. Both bad enough.
BTTT
It never ends.
How do his links jive with yours?
If Christians and traditionalists continue to stand by and do nothing, this will only worsen. These groups are all radically left and share a hatred of the faithful that rivals that of the Nazi's and communists. History is very much cyclical and the outcome can only be changed if people recognize that what once tragically happened, is happening again. We have many of sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, etc. who are standing in harms way to protect the very values and beliefs that many here are allowing to be ripped away with not so much as a fight. The fight to protect these values at home is no less important a battle, but so many find the struggle an inconvienence. If you are sickened by what is happening, then do something; if you lack the moral fortitude to actually do something, then pay someone else to do it (Alliance Defence Fund et al). It does not even cost a stamp anymore to voice your feelings to your elected officials, yet people have become paralyzed by political correctness. Not sure about the rest of you, but when I am gone I would prefer that I was remembered for just being correct, not politically correct.
There are no "homosexuals" as a distinct, born-that-way group. There are only homosexual acts committed by emotionally disturbed persons. Rather than taking the difficult route to attempt to modify their abnormal, self-defeating behavior, they've decided to take the easy way out and are banding together as political pressure groups whose aim is to force us to recognize them as a kind of third gender and to recruit our children to their lifestyle.
I like teenage lesbians...
That gave me visions of liberals taking over the country and electing the first homosexual president...who in turn outlaws conservatism.
(sound of Twilight Zone theme playing in the background)
