Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)
WAGA-TV/WSB-TV Atlanta | 3.11.05

Posted on 03/11/2005 6:39:06 AM PST by mhking

This is a breaking news situation.

A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.

The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.

I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

I hate it when ninnys get up and give press conferences. It is so painful. Why do they go on about the various agencies "cooperating"..... Give it a rest!

It's too bizarre. They just pointed out on FOX...the guy's has been in jail. He has no credit cards- no cash- no clothes- no food. He has a green Honda that eventually must run out of gas.

Unless they're hot on the trail and trying to give the perp the impression that they've lost him.

But I'm afraid I do not have much confidence in the Fulton County sheriff's office OR the Atlanta P.D. Talk about the gangs that couldn't shoot straight . . . both offices are full of corruption and politically correct hiring and promotion practices.

However, the G.B.I. and the Georgia State Patrol are also on the case, and in THOSE guys I have a pretty high confidence level . . .

I'm afraid the only reason the chief is giving this news conference is that he was out of town when all of this went down this morning, and he just HAD to get in front of the cameras . . . only reason I can see for holding a presser at this hour with absolutely no new information.

He has probably robbed someone. I wondered how far he could go with nothing, no money, out of ammo. I would check out his relatives, grandmothers in particular and great aunts. They shelter kids sometimes and he is a kid to them.

Bingo again. I guess I stopped being interested when my looking into it got me to the point where it looked OK. Funny, that might have been part of it. The other was that there is something deadening about having so many relatives in common. At least it was to me.

I have a feeling they need all the "cooperation" they can get.

yep, if no tragic component is involved, cousins lose their sex appeal and become just cousins which is an incredible bond. My kids meet cousins they have never known and there is an instantaneous bond,,I do believe it is chemical.

"I'll tell you one thing, you certainly look at security differently after managing a courthouse."

You look at security differently after working in a prison for many years too. I retired a little over a year ago, but still find myself being very security conscious. I always lock my car after I get into it, and always try to be aware of who is around me when I'm out and about...especially after dark. I'm still very observant and keep my eyes open for anything out of the ordinary. I cringe when I see women grocery shopping who leave their purses sitting open in their grocery carts while they're over picking out produce or checking something else out. I used to give them advice about leaving their purses unattended, but then stopped because I got tired of them looking at me like I was the one planning on robbing them. I'm a female, and I really think that having worked in the environment I did for all those years has helped to keep me from becoming a victim.

If he planned this, he may have a stash or an accomplice.

Good point, though that Honda can easy go a couple of days without a fillup if it had much to start with.

He'd be leaving a trail of stickups, if he's after more gas/food/money/cars. If that's not happening then he's holed up someplace, and probably then getting help from someone.

Don't worry about gas. This guy is most likely sleeping right now off in the woods somewhere or at some ol' pal's place.

My grandmother's sister married her fourth cousin.

Only reason we knew was the D.A.R. (the man in question was a Revolutionary Ancestor.)

On the other hand, when my dad was a young schoolboy in Rome, GA, he was sitting on the levee below Darlington School with five or six classmates.

They got to talking and realized they were ALL cousins. Of course, this was back when Rome GA was a whole lot smaller than it is now.

BUT, on still another hand, when I was doing some family research in Rome, somebody referred me to a local physician who is an amateur genealogist and unofficial historian of Rome . . . and it turned out we were cousins, related through one of my great-great-grandmother's brothers . . .

I think there's some poor little old lady tied up (or worse) in her dark house somewhere in Atlanta tonight...her car, cash and maybe her late husband's guns having been taken by this monster.
